How to hook in Event Tickets to stop events set to FREE while using RSVP?

Question concerning the “Tickets”-plugin of “The Events Calendar”-plugin (free versions):

I just want to use the RSVP reservation functionality without payment. The users has to pay the events fee via cash at each event, so I have no payment gateway setup and no ticket system for payment installed. All is working perfectly – BUT now I discovered that in all events I use the RSVP tickets the price is set to free. The price and currency field in the backend of the events calendar has disappeared and on the detail page and in list view the price is now ‘free’. This is not what I want.

Is there a way to switch this behavior off?

Is there a way to hook in this plugin to stop this?
