Test: WP 6.1.1 + Theme: Twenty TwentyTwo

At first the good news: Your Plugin works also with the “Google Maps” Block from Kadence Blocks:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/kadence-blocks/

But I have problems with the high of the displayed map.

    1. The placeholder does not match the high of the displayed map. Placeholder is bigger in every case. But the real problem is, that the reserved space in the page does not change with the display of the map. Resulting in more or less (not good looking) white-space below the displayed map in the resulting webpage.
    2. The high of the displayed map depends on embedding method:
      • iFrame in HTML block: display like adjusted (seems as best method, but map is not responsive, caused by fixed width in iframe code)
      • Shortcodes Ultimate: the high of the map is reduced
      • Kadence Blocks: the high of the map (including aspect ratio) is dramatically reduced

Test 2 with alternate solution: AWEOS Google Maps iframe load per click
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/aweos-google-maps-iframe-load-per-click/

Result 2: works also with all 3 above embedding methods, but with size matching placeholder AND without reducing the high of the map.

Of course I could use both plugins and deactivate Google Maps Embed provider in “Embed privacy”. But I would prefer using only your great “Embed privacy” 🙂

Maybe – with a little look in working AWEOS code – Map placeholder and Map display could be a bit improved?

    Hi there!

Unfortunately, there are currently some issues regarding determine the correct aspect ratio of the embedded content. We’re on it to fix this.

    Best regards,

Can you please check the new version 1.7.0 if that fixes your problem? 🙂

Sorry, but i can’t see any difference between 1.6.5 and 1.7.0.

I tried it with/without JavaScript detection

I tried a complete reinstall of the plugin.

I tried a Classic Theme (Twenty Sixteen) and FSE Theme (Twenty Twenty Two)

I tried a complete WP freshinstall on https://instawp.com/

1.7.0 shows same (problematic) results as 1.6.5

Thank you for testing again. I added a fix, which will be shipped with the upcoming version 1.7.1.
