Is it possible to force alt tags or the decorative designation on featured images? Currently the plugin displays a message when uploading featured images, but doesn’t force an action.

Because the HTML for the featured image isn’t generated in the editor, there’s no way for WP Accessibility to know whether or not the featured image has an alt attribute. Even if the alt text has been added, that does not guarantee that the usage of the featured image *uses* that alt text. I’m hesitant to offer something that offers assurance that an image has alt text without actually knowing whether it does.

Could you maybe have it as an off-by-default feature with some language explaining you need to verify your theme actually outputs featured images accessibly?
