    Hi David

I hope so much that you are doing well and that you can continue to support and develop this great plugin for a long time to come. I have been using the plugin for many years and I am very satisfied. Thank you very much for your work all these years.

    Now to my request:

Would it be possible to implement a new feature? I need a post image from my gallery for my website. This image has a different format than the original. Would it be possible to implement a duplicate image option. So I would have two images where I could leave the original and customize the duplicate.

It would be great if you could implement this.

    Many greetings
    Meggs

Thank you so much for your good wishes and positive MLA feedback. I hope to keep at it for a long time.

Regarding your request, you may find a solution provided by one of the MLA Example Plugins. I recommend you install and activate the example plugin, then read through the Documentation tab to see if it’s what you need.

To install the example plugin, navigate to the Settings/Media library Assistant Documentation tab and click the “Example Plugins” button. Type “duplicate” in the text box and click “Search Plugins” to filter the table.

You are looking for the “MLA Duplicate Item” example plugin. Find that plugin and hover over the title in the left-most column. Click the “Install” rollover action, then go to the WordPress Plugins/Installed Plugins submenu and activate the example plugin as you would any other plugin. Make sure you have the latest version, 1.02, installed.

Once the example plugin is active you can go to the Settings/MLA Duplicate Documentation tab and see how it works.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have problems or further questions regarding the suggested solution. If it does not meet your requirements, any additional details will help me investigate further. Thanks for your long-standing interest in MLA.

    Hi David

The plugin works wonderfully. It’s really incredible what you provide for the community.

What I wanted to ask you for a long time, is there a possibility to use a plugin for the display of a folder structure within MAL. I use the plugin “Folders”. Unfortunately, the folders created for the items are only displayed for the official WP item directory.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Best regards

    Meggs

David, the plugin “Folders” is from Premio.

Thanks for confirming that the example plugin works for your application. Regarding the “folders” question, MLA is compatible with two of the many “folder” plugins. The MLA description says

In both of those cases most of the work required was in the folder plugin, not MLA. In fact, MLA cannot add such support on its own. I will open a topic in their support forum and see if they are interested in working with me to add MLA support. Thanks for alerting me to another popular folder plugin.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions regarding the “MLA Duplicate Item” example plugin. Thanks again for your interest in MLA and for all the positive comments.

I have started a topic in the Premio Folders support forum:

Adding MLA support to your plugin | WordPress.org

I will post an update here when there is progress to report.

Thank you very much. You and your plugin are great :-).

I can’t wait to see if something comes of this.
