    Hello

I have a suggestion for an additional feature. Could MLA add post statuses to the attachment post type? Like Publish, Future, Draft, Pending and Private, instead of Inherit.

Maybe this is a WordPress problem. I asked WordPress support: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/activitypub-and-media-post-status/

Thanks for your suggestion and for your update with the link to your related topic. As “bcworkz” wrote:

Altering attachment status can cause the relationship to the related post to become broken.

The use of post_status === inherit is all over WordPress core, themes and plugins. Any attempt to change it would break much more than the attachment to post relationship.

Your related topic refers to “WordPress Activitypub”. The best solution would be for that plugin to add more robust support for attachment/media items and pages.

I am marking this topic resolved because there’s nothing I can do in MLA to address the problem. Thanks for your understanding and your continued interest in MLA.

    More feature requests:

Features like these would be good:

    • Possibility to link or group tags so that when you select a tag, the other tags in the group are automatically added.
    • File name editing
    • In Media list quick edit, clicking thumbnail would show the image in a modal window.
This would be helpful for reading and seeing the image when adding alt-texts.

Thanks for your update with the ideas for MLA enhancements.

    • The “group tags” idea might make for an interesting MLA Example Plugin.
    • One of my early MLA design decisions was to avoid any feature(s) that altered actual files in the uploads area. That includes file name changes, and I have no plans to revisit the earlier decision.
    • Something like the Quick Edit modal window idea would be nice to have, although clicking on the thumbnail image already has a function WordPress users are accustomed to. I will keep it in mind for a future MLA update if I can think of a good UI for it.
