Fatal error on activation if wp-config.php is not writable

    Caught Exception: \Fragen\WP_Debugging\Settings::add_constants() – Failed to update the config file.

    Hi Andy, I’m seeing the above fatal error on activation. I suspect the wp-config.php file is not writable. It might be nice to test that and show a more graceful error.

    I’m intentionally throwing an Exception here. I really want the site admin to know and deactivating the plugin should still work.

    The Exception just reports the outcome as I don’t want to assume what the problem is, though in this case I suspect you are correct.
