We are using the MyCalendar plugin on a couple of our hosted websites. On the one instance, we see a massive amount of traffic from a Facebook bot. This traffic is only seen when the MyCalendar plugin is active… if disabled, the high traffic disappears.

Is there an option within your plugin that this could be coming from?

There are no options within My Calendar that relate to Facebook in any way; I’d assume that this is a Facebook bot that’s going a bit wild in crawling My Calendar.

My Calendar marks the navigation links as ‘nofollow’, to prevent bots from crawling excessively, but there’s no way to force them to actually do that.

    Hi!

I’m actually facing the same problem except it actually causes my site to go down and it eats up all my server resources.

Anyway to block the bit from accessing those pages?

There are a variety of plugins that are designed to block bots you can try out:

There are probably others; I don’t have an extensive familiarity with them.
