Extra Images crop

    I’m using web stories plugin to make web stories. I made 1 or 2 stories and publish 6 7 articles daily, Recently I notice that uploaded images for post also converted into web stories images size, screenshot- Upload and share screenshots and images – print screen online | Snipboard.io

    I think this is unnecessary images crop which occupy extra space of server, So, How can solve this problem? I want that only that images crop for webstories which use in webstories slide, I dont want every uploaded images should crop.

    Hi there,

    While I understand the concern about unwanted image sizes, there is unfortunately no built-in way in WordPress to only crop images on demand, nor is it really possible to know in advance whether an image is going to be used in a story or not. So unfortunately this can’t be changed/addressed. We’re always on the lookout though to see if there’s anything new in WordPress core that we could leverage with reasonable effort, so perhaps eventually we will be able to address this.

    Its not default WordPress function to crop images specific for webstories, its added function by plugin install and Off Crouse, its not necessary to every photos uploaded in WordPress are for webstories, and if anyone use uploaded image after that, then there should be function in webstories plugin to crop the image at that time. You can take this feedback because if 100 images upload daily mostly for posts, then how much it is good to crop all 100 images for webstories without knowing in advance whether an image is going to be used in a story or not, nothing but only block the space of server.

    What I am trying to say is there is no way in WordPress to only crop images on demand, otherwise we would already be doing that. We appreciate your feedback though and we will definitely consider implementing improvements this regard once WordPress makes such a change available.
