    Hi, I am getting the following error while opening the /sitemap.xml page:

    This page contains the following errors:
    error on line 1 at column 1: Start tag expected, ‘<‘ not found
    Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

    How to proceed? Thanks

    Hi, this may occur if there is something else that is generating output that should not be there. It may be a PHP error or even just a blank line and it can come from another plugin or your theme.

    To find out more, you’ll need to temporarily disable all (other) plugins or even switch to a default theme. Or use a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/check-conflicts/ to do this only for yourself, while other visitors will still be able to access the regular site.

    If you can share a link to your sitemap, I might be able to tell you more about the cause (if there is a visible error message for example)…
