I’m creating an e-commerce store with Woocommerce.
I need to create a product description that goes beyond the standard text+photos, but instead something with a little bit of colors and nice UI.
    This is a good example
I’m planning to design the entire website, homepage and product description included, with Gutenberg + blocks like Kadence’s.
Unfortunately Woocommerce doesn’t support Gutenberg yet, so I need to design the product description in a standard page and then embed that page into the description.
Back when I used to use Elementor, it was possible with Shortcodes. I used to get the Elementor page shortcode and the simply paste it into the product description.
Is it possible to do the same?

  • Hello,

Unfortunately Woocommerce doesn’t support Gutenberg yet, so I need to design the product description in a standard page and then embed that page into the description.

Although Gutenberg is not supported at this moment, this tutorial provides a snippet to enable it for products. I would recommend using a plugin like Code Snippets to add the snippet to your site.

    I hope it helps.

@maykato thank you for your answer.
I already enabled gutenberg but unfortunately since it’s not officially supported there are some features missing like tags.
do you have any ETA on official gutenberg support?

    Hi,

I keep seeing similar queries, but unfortunately, we can’t give you an ETA. For now, you need to use a third party plugin or the snippet I sent earlier to be able to edit product description.

    Hi @tomxygen,

We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. Hopefully, the workaround works for the time being.

If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.

    Thanks.`
