Howdy @sprithansi, as far as I’m aware there’s no incompatibilities w/ WP 4.7.5. It appears as if maybe the plugin was deactivated? Try checking to see if deactivating then reactivating the plugin helps the issue.

Nope, that didnt help….
I had the plugin installed before. It has been deleted before I installed it again yesterday.
I also tried it on a local testserver, but it doesnt work there either
In that case I’d recommend a few things (on your local test server would probably be easiest):
1) Disable all other plugins and see if that changes anything.
2) Change your theme to one of the stock Twenty XTeen themes and see if that changes anything.
3) Both 1) and 2).
Otherwise, I’d appreciate if you could take a look at your error logs if you’re able and let me know if anything stands out.

Tested now with Twenty Seventeen-theme and all other plugins deactivated, but with no luck.
It still only shows me the shortcode

OK. Now I got it working, without updating the plugin 🙂
Your shortcode didn’t work before I removed the ”
Then I tried your shortcode on my site (without the “)
[beerxml recipe=https://www.fivebladesbrewing.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/schwarz-2.xml actuals=true/]
and it worked
So it seems that the actuals=true did the trick. But I dont know why.
Just tested out a fresh install on 4.8 and had no issues. I don’t think it’s related, but I just pushed an update to the XML mime upload type (that would cause an error when you try to upload the XML file to your media library, not displaying the shortcode).
Your current situation makes me think there’s something with your WordPress configuration that’s preventing either 1) the plugin loading, or 2) shortcodes from being processed. The fact that it’s only spitting out the shortcode itself tells me that the shortcode processor isn’t firing. Are you able to get other shortcodes working?
Alternately, does the plugin work if you try this recipe?

Great, sometimes various server configurations have trouble with fiddly bits like encodings or something small like that.

But why do you write the shortcode with ” around the URL?
Is that how it’s supposed to be?
You can add "" around a value, but it’s optional. This dang editor converted it into a different character though which breaks the shortcode if you copy/paste it straight.
