    Hi All,

I’m having a lot of trouble backing up my WordPress site using BackWPup. I have configured the job to backup the database and folder structures (all default settings) to an FTP specified folder. The credentials are correct, but the job gets stuck always on 77%. I have FTP set to passive mode.

The error in question looks like – WARNING: ZipArchive::close(): Renaming temporary file failed: No such file or directory

Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

  • Hi,

does your job work, if you select another archive type, e.g. tar gzip?

    Kind regards

Changed from ZIP to TAR. Now I’m getting the following error

[28-Mar-2017 09:36:48] WARNING: FTP server reply: Cannot enter passive mode

    Hi,

It seems that with TAR the backup is working (you don’t see any error for it now), so it is probably an issue with zip extension on the system.

Please ask your hosting support or just stuck with tar.

The error you get now, is unrelated. It seems the configuration for FTP you are using now are not compatible with the server.

You could ask your hosting what settings to use for FTP. But you could start by unckecking the “use passive mode” on the job setting and using “SSL-FTP connection” option (this could need to change the conection port as well).

Best thing to do is ask the hosting.

You need to know what exactly use for those settings. Also, it is possible that the hosting allows only specific folders to be accessible via FTP, so you should also make sure that the folder you are targeting is fine.

    Regards,

    Giuseppe

Since we didn’t hear back from you and Giuseppe wrote you a suggestion what to do, I guess, this ticket can be marked as resolved. 🙂

But please let us know if you still have problems and we are glad to help!
