We are using Site Kit in multiple websites and everything appears configured properly and it says that the snippets are inserted. However, we just realized that we are not receiving any tracking information since a while ago!!!

I can open the website on an incognito tab, and yet I will not see anything in the real time tab in Google Analytics, even if I also open the website from my phone.

I try to find the supposedly inserted GA snippet using developer tools, but I can’t find it in the source code.

We lost almost a month of data for one of our clients, and I noticed that for another client, our SEO recently installed an additional Google Analytics plugin, and when I asked him why, he said that no data was being tracked although I have Site Kit properly set up.

What is going on? Why is the snippet not being inserted even though it says it is?

Consent mode is disabled and “Excluded from Analytics” is set to “Users that can write posts”. I access the website without logging in and yet the visit is not registered in Google Analytics.

We do use a custom WordPress directory structure, not sure if that could have something to do with it. WordPress is in a subdirectory and the wp-content has been renamed and relocated, as well as the uploads directory has been relocated to the upper level. All following what WordPress allows to do without modifying its files.

Thanks for reaching out @gerardreches. If you’re happy to share your Site Health information for one of these impacted sites, I’d be happy to take a look and see what may be happening. For the same site, please also share whether you see data for that site from analytics.google.com for the last 60 days. Feel free to share a screenshot of any such report from analytics.google.com.

What may have happened, was Consent Mode was enabled at some point. Alternatively, a third party consent management plugin may have impacted reporting. The checks I’ll be performing are mainly to see if anything is blocking tracking at present.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
