Thank you for reading this topic. I’m glad if you could help me about this issue below.

I’m trying to add Noto Sans Japanese of Google font by putting the file in the font folder and editing theme.json but it doesn’t work. Instead of the font, Source Han Sans JapaneseExtra-light is shown.

However, I succeeded adding another Google font “Tilt” in the same way so I’m wondering why I can’t.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @ypamkimiko, could I make a suggestion? If you haven’t already used it, I’d suggest using Create Block Theme plugin. https://wordpress.org/plugins/create-block-theme

The plugin allows you to easily add Google fonts, including Noto Sans Japanese, to a theme.

And then, all you need to do left is specify the font in the Global Styles.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your reply @iamtakashi .

I’ve tried that before, and now I tried again and failed.

I added Mystery Quest as a test and set as a font of link. It works well now.

I’m still searching about this problem but I noticed that it shows Noto Sans JP for a moment just after when I clear the cash on the website. And then, it changes to Source Han Sans JapaneseExtra-light soon.

I searched about the font and figured out that “Noto Sans JP” and “Source Han Sans Japanese” are same fonts. So the font seems to be reflected now. Thank you for your support.
