Upper Sodden was the southern part of Sodden and was the area south of the Yaruga river between Cintra, Brugge, and Riverdell.

History[]

In 1263, the southern part of Sodden was invaded by the Nilfgaardian Army, led by Menno Coehoorn, and its defence was annihilated in a battle resulting in a Nilfgaardian victory.[1]

In the aftermath of the First Northern War, Sodden was split between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms into Upper Sodden and Lower Sodden, with the Yaruga forming a natural boundary.

After the split, Upper Sodden became a province of Cintra under Nilfgaardian rule, but not everyone was happy and an anti-Nilfgaard group was born in the Slopes. After the Peace of Cintra, it was reunited with Lower Sodden under Temeria.
