Tadrus Hen Lohsa was the resident mage of Hengfors and an advisor to the rulers of the East March and the Hengfors League.

Biography[]

Early life and adventures[]

Tadrus was born around the 1060s, in the Barsamen Taifa of Bukhala (modern-day Baccalà, Nilfgaardian Empire). When he was just a couple years old, his parents fled with him to the Northern Realms, escaping the Nilfgaardian invasion of their homeland. In a Cidarian port, the toddler was spotted by one of the teachers from Academy of Magic in Mirthe who then bought him from his parents for a hefty price.

After passing the exams, Tadrus travelled the world and lived through numerous adventures. During one of such, he met and befriended the dwarf Barney Brunn.[1]

Resident of Hengfors[]

Hen Lohsa eventually arrived in the city of Hengfors where he settled after the previous resident mage died, roughly in the 1160s. He went on to become a court sorcerer to the margraves of the East March and later to kings Audoen and Niedamir. He did not meddle with the internal politics of the city nor the League, preferring instead to focus on his studies on enhancing golems' artificial intelligence.

In the late 1240s, he expanded his tower with a new turret, built so that towers of the new Kreve cathedral did not reach higher than his home, just to spite the archpriest.

During the Northern Wars in the 1260s, Tadrus advised Niedamir against neutrality, vaguely remembering the Nilfgaardian conquest of his fatherland.[1]

Appearance and personality[]

Seemingly sedate and harsh, Tadrus loosened his tongue when in companionship of people he trusted, revealing a keen sense of humour and a sharp mind.

Tadrus was always cleanshaven and had long carefully styled hair with blue-opalizing black curls.[1]
