Superior Petri's Philter

Superior Petri's Philter is the most advanced form of the potion in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Five of these can be crafted at any one time and placed in the consumables slot.

Tips[]

• The description stating "Signs always apply their special effects" means that there is 100% chance to apply any chance-based effects from signs. For example, drinking the potion and using Igni, which normally has a percentage chance of successfully applying the special effect of burning, instead will always burn its victims.
• The potion will also affect chance-based special effects from abilities like Exploding Shield, which normally will only push back enemies. After drinking the potion, the exploding shield will instead stagger everyone the effect hits.
• Prior to Patch 4.0, the special effect may not work if enemy upscaling is on. This is most likely because the resistance of upscaled enemies is calculated incorrectly and boosted as if the enemy is +5 levels higher than Geralt. Continuing the example from before using Igni, it will not burn enemies with or without the potion. But if the enemy is more or less the same level with or without upscaling on then it will work all the same.
  • Such problems can be overcome by boosting sign intensity to very high levels like with Euphoria.
