Oxenfurt Academy has a number of faculty/departments as follows:

In the faculty building, lectures and seminars on subjects such as classical and modern poetry were open to vistors and students of the academy.[1]

The subjects studied here include alchemy and chemistry. Their experiments involved the use of hydrogen sulfide, which made the building smell of it.[1]

The faculty building suffered vandals drawing graffiti about witchers, sometime in the 1260s.[1]

Department of Supernatural Phenomena[]

Lectures are given by masters of magic about all things magical, supernatural and occult, including the origin of demons and their nature.

This building was a mansion, and their students wore pale green cloaks.[1]

The areas studied here include zoology, biology, genetics and other sciences relating to both creatures and people. In 1267, an orangutan they were working with managed to escape.[1]

Founded by Norbert von Esteken,[4] the faculty has the Latin phrase "Nil admirari" written over its entrance.[5] Tutors from the department often engaged in discussions on topics such as "the essence and origins of life", generally over a pint of beer.[1]

It is housed in a modern, gloomy building dubbed the "Deus Ex Machina" by the students, and is next to Guildenstern bridge.[1]

  • The Faculty of Most Contemporary History was the name Sigismund Dijkstra gave to the rented offices of the Redanian Secret Service on the Academy's campus, while Dandelion called it the Faculty of Comparative Spying and Applied Sabotage, neither being an official name.[1]
  • Those studying the arts/literacy who received high honours were awarded the title of Master of Letters.[6]
