Giambattista was a powerful mage and a member of the Novigradian Union, along with Jan Bekker and Geoffrey Monck.
He was also an original member of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers, the author of the book Forces of the Elements,[1] and one of the first nordlings to master the magic of the Elder Races.

First Landing[]
In the 760s, Giambattista, Bekker, possibly Monck, and the other settlers first landed upon the shores of the Continent. They established a settlement and quickly Giambattista and Bekker started to put the children of the settlers through magical tests as they arrived, in order to discover Sources. They took the selected children, including the young Agnes of Glanville, from their parents to Mirthe, the first seat of the mages, where they trained them in the ways of magic.[2]
