It is dropped by Nithral during the main quest quest Wandering in the Dark. It can also be found at random diagram locations or purchased from the following merchants:

- At some point, it was intended to be found in the treasure for Hidden in the Depths, but the chest is randomized instead.
- This diagram was also supposed to be a reward for winning a boat race quest near Kaer Trolde, which was cut from the game.
