The uprising within Cintra was one of the many rebellions that took place around the Second Northern War.[1]

After the Nilfgaardian Empire conquered Cintra, in the spring of 1267, Duke Windhalm of Attre gathered as many men as possible and started a guerrilla war against the Nilfgaardian forces. The rebellion was however suppressed the same year; most of the rebels that remained were killed while the rest were either forced to surrender or flee in Verden. Windhalm was captured and publicly executed in Cintra.[1]
