A cultural group of elves referred to by Nordlings as Black Seidhe apparently inhabited the valley around Alba river and created civilization distinctive from the Aen Seidhe, their elven cousins further north. In time they combined with arriving human settlers and became the known ancestors of present-day Nilfgaardians,[1] who take pride in their heritage and speak a variation of the Elder Speech.[2]
