Tw3 bandits camp

A bandit camp is a location type in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Usually, bandit camps are populated by hostile humans or nonhumans, such as bandits, deserters, renegades, pirates, cannibals, Scoia'tael, or Nilfgaardians. In the Hearts of Stone expansion, Fallen Knights of the Order of the Flaming Rose are found at bandit camps.

The map marker for a bandit camp usually points to the camp's chest, which must be looted in order to mark the location as cleared.

A lot of bandit camps, particularly near populated areas, are later occupied by civilians when cleared - very similar to abandoned sites, but without rewards.

Description[]

As the war between Redania and Nilfgaard drives on, deserters or common thugs have seen an increase in numbers, forming roaming gangs that attack passersby on the roads between villages. Some of these gangs are organized enough to have set up camps to rest, recuperate, and divide the loot of the day.

Entering these camps unprepared can be a fatal mistake, even for a witcher, as they must face off with large numbers of bandits who wish to keep their camp a secret for as long as possible. However, the spoils that can be gained from killing all the bandits and looting the camp are potentially quite lucrative. [1]

Toussaint[]

Note: Almost all bandit camps in Toussaint are under the influence of hanse bases controlling their regions and, if discovered after the respective hanse leader is eliminated, these bandit camps may turn into guarded treasures instead.[N 1] Unless cleared before the hanse base, monsters will replace the bandits in any such camps either way, but the map icon is only set to that of a guarded treasure if they were previously undiscovered.

Footnotes[]

  1. During The Night of Long Fangs, while most guarded treasures and bandits camps are unreachable, all enemies at those locations are replaced by fleders and garkains.
