This is an excellent case for my purposes for my iPhone 12 Pro. I went through a bunch before it. Wish that I'd just started here.

I don't write many reviews but I'm taking some time to do one for this. For a more slim-fitting case it's just about perfect. Good grip at the sides. Comfortable to hold. Not bulky. The finger indentations at the sides aren't as pronounced as they appear in some photos. You can see and feel them but not real obvious when just looking at the case. They do help to add a little more grip. The soft-touch material used at the back doesn't show fingerprints. Slips in and out of pockets easily and doesn't pick up lint. Works very well with my MagSafe charger (and other Qi chargers). You can pick up the phone and the charging puck remains attached just about the same as without the case. (Likely would slip on something like a car mount though.) Good fit. Buttons align and work well. Ports all align properly. Looks nice overall. Clean design without unnecessary "stuff" and minimal branding. Good basic protection for the type of case that it is.

If I wanted to nit-pick, after putting on a screen protector the height of the edges at the front could be a hair or two higher but still are raised enough to stand off the front glass from flat surfaces.

If you're looking for this level of a case then just buy it. They also have the heavier Gripzilla but for my use I like this one better.

The Best Case and Tremendous Value!

There's a reason this case was picked best overall case by one of the gadget websites (maybe Wirecutter?). Actually, there are many reasons.

- My favorite feature of this case is how easy it is to hold. I tend to have somewhat dry hands and I'd never carry around a "naked" iPhone, because glass and metal does not make for "grippy" surfaces. You'd think any rubber case would be easy to grip but I've not found that to be the case. Most are smooth and even seem to have slight coatings that make them harder to hold (maybe that's something to help eject them from the molds?). I always wash mine with dish-washing soap and hot water before using to make sure they are clean.

- This case has a relatively smooth back (to make it easy to slide in and out of your pocket, but it has kind of a "crinkly" pattern molded into all four edges that make it much easier to hold. Although it took me a couple of weeks to notice, it also has four subtle indentions on each side, which further help you keep a good grip -- yet they are nearly invisible and don't detract from the good looks of the case.

- Some of my cases have made the volume buttons seem a bit stiff but this case makes it easy to use those buttons, and all cutouts are perfectly placed and the case fits like a glove. In fact, even with my driver's license and a spare $20 AND a small metal plate tucked inside the case, the edges of the case on the front still line up perfectly with my iPhone 12max.

Like all good cases, the back of the case that surrounds the camera lenses is raised so if you set it down on a surface, the lenses will not be scratched. I read one customer didn't like this because the phone can rock slightly if "typing" on a flat surface, but I'd think protecting your camera lenses is much more important.

Just a fantastic case and the best out of maybe a dozen I've used on 6 or 7 iPhones over the last 10 years -- and at $15, a tremendous value. (Plus, it protects your $1,000 phone investment!).

DECENT CASE FOR THE $

After sampling about 10 cases so far for the new iPhone 12 Pro Max and searching primarily for a case that won’t fly out of my hand too easily, this one from Smartish does the job pretty well.
Its got raised edges for the Front Screen and for the rear Camera lenses - the front raise seems sufficient even with the tempered glass in place but I would’ve like to see more of a raise for the camera area since I installed a protective glass there as well and even though I swapped the first one I used for a thinner, metal-frame one, the glass lens protector sits flush with the raised plastic bevel of the case. Not ideal.
The one-piece case itself is sturdy enough, feels like it will provide enough drop-protection without adding excesss bulk. The buttons are a little stiff to me. ’s leather case could provide a lesson here as it uses metal buttons suspended in a thin, flexible material - really nice to find in the hand and operate with satisfying clicks. Of course, that case costs $60 and isn’t one I would use as my daily driver - I’m a service technician and constantly using my phone, often with dirty hands and in spots with severe drop potential.
The “rhino-skin” finish all-around and very slight finger-grip indentations on the sides give this case it’s decent grippiness. The rear panel has a very slight texture which should be more pronounced imho.
All in all, I won’t say my search is over but I’m keeping this case on my phone until I find better, which I think is out there somewhere...

My Apple iPhone case (from Apple) was falling apart and I discovered this case which is a much better case and better quality.

Why - it is easy to grip and not slippery. It goes in and out of the pants pocket very well. It has some subtle ridges on the sides of the case which makes it a little bit easier to grip and hold onto without slipping, all in all and excellent case which I feel good about using and will recommend your friends.

I'm not the kind of person who often writes reviews, but I am the kind of person to read a million reviews before I make a purchase.
Save yourself some time. If you need a case for iPhone 12 and you like the look of this one, buy it.

The case is light, slim, fits the phone well, and has good grip. It has saved my phone on a number of occasions when I've dropped it. In a freak accident I dropped it in some shallow water and it took a few hours to fish the phone out. Phone still worked afterwards - I believe partly due to this case.

For 2 years of use, minimal marks on the back and no signs of wearing out anytime soon the $15 is totally worth it.
