Amazon Description is a bit Incorrect
First of all, my item arrived partially damaged (see third-attached pic.)The ad for TLP1208TELTV here says "UL-1449 fourth edition" when it's really a UL-1449 third edition. I know because I ordered one through here. (see attached pics)The clamping voltage is only 330V for the neutral line, the other two lines are 400V. (see attached pics)The included 6' RJ11 cable works with my DSL modem but isn't as fast as the CenturyLink green RJ12 cat-5e cables and therefore reduces the speed by 5-10 Mbps. In fact, i tested with a separately purchased cat-5 cable and got better and smoother results via Ookla speed tests. Suggesting that the provided cable isn't even a cat-5 cable or perhaps not a high-quality one. I have CenturyLink double-bonded DSL internet. Amazon doesn't seem to sell, even through third-party venders, cat-5e RJ11/12 cables. When I did my tests using Ookla i ran test thrice each time and averaged out score via my Apple TV 4K 2nd-gen. which is plugged-directly into CenturyLink modem-router via cat-7 ethernet cable. It's too bad Tripp-Lite doesn't sell directly from their own website to prevent issues like this but rather through resellers e.g. Amazon.I'm gonna call Amazon about this.In the end i give it full 5-stars because i haven't been able to find anything as good in the US market sold from a different brand. This is pretty much the only brand that makes surge protectors that aren't snake oil and actually provide protection, list their specs, and even educate people on their website about what the different specs mean and why they're important.

I have an Eaton 8 outlet surge protector with 3 spaced receptacles for large connectors and I like it. But the Tripp Lite has 12 outlets with four spaced receptacles that I found quite useful. A lot of my computer/electronics equipment use the larger connectors that need that extra space.

If not using an outlet, you can slide the receptacle's safety cover up to prevent anything falling inside. It's also good if you are using it in an area that has lots for dust. The 8 foot cord also gives me an extra 2 feet longer than a lot of other surge protectors. The receptacles have a solid feel and plugs fit snugly.

UPDATE: ONE of these works pretty well, the OTHER one, UGH!! Only three of the eight outlets work. The other five I AM UNABLE TO PLUG ANYTHING INTO FIVE OF THEM! You need a sledgehammer! My fiancee' is a BIG guy and he could not get a simple, two pronged plug for a lamp to plug into any of the other outlets! Sending back! Great surge protector. I just received and installed them, however, they seem to be of good quality. Verizon totally screwed up my Fios install (shocker). Their tech didn't know what he was doing (shocker again). My electrical outlet was not properly grounded and only accepted two-pronged plugs. The nimrod cut the grounding plug off of a cheap-ass, no name power strip and plugged it in and connected the HUGE plug for the back-up battery to it. Over time, we experienced several outages (almost weekly) and the strip started making a weird noise. That is when I noticed the lights on the backup battery did not say "grounded" or "protected" I purchased the Tripp Lite to see if they worked better. I had to purchase a little, grey GFCI adaptor and screw it into the socket to ground that outlet, and accept three=pronged plugs, but it worked and the Tripp Lite says "grounded and protected". I feel much safer with this than the POS Verizon jerry rigged and left me with. This one also has input jacks for phone lines and TV connections.

I have Tripp-Lite protecting all my small kitchen electrics and also a digital piano, but Belkin surge protectors on my TVs and home theater equipment. Recently, my main TV came unplugged overnight — which was strange because the plugs are behind an entertainment center and it had been working when I last used it. When I went behind the entertainment center to fix it, I found another item that I assumed was unplugged but was actually still plugged into the Belkin but but no longer powered. I moved the TV and as many of the components to a small surge protector and then ordered this 12-outlet replacement. I was initially annoyed that despite being a PRIME member shipping was expected to take a week, but fortunately I was able to receive this ahead of schedule.

I was skeptical that all 12 outlets could be used once the AC adapters were in place, but everything in my entertainment center hooked up to this surge protector. Upon removing the old Belkin, I literally heard debris rattling around inside. Apparently it had taken a big hit and did its job but instead of completely dying was continuing to give the appearance that it was protecting my equipment. If it weren't for the bizarre fact that my TV came unplugged overnight, I might not have realized what was going on. (Probably saved my expensive SONY TV.)

In the Customer Q&A one thing that caught my attention about this product is that it is no longer expected to run once the surge protection capacity is expended. That's a plus because on many surge protectors they continue to operate like power strips even after they no longer have the capacity to protect attached equipment. All three LED lights on my Belkin — red, green and yellow were illuminated but it continued to operate to the endangerment of connected equipment. And since I couldn't see the LEDs behind my entertainment center, I missed the fact that it was no longer doing its job.

This Tripp-Lite arrived in the nick of time. It's the highest-rated joules (>4,000) I could find for the price with the most amount of receptacles. Initially I was debating an upgrade to a power conditioner and Automatic Voltage Regulator but none of them had enough outlets and I was cautioned about daisy chaining a surge protector to the back of an AVR. I then very nearly went with Furman (brand used by musicians) but despite describing their products as "line conditioners" their joule ratings were lower (or in some cases not even published) and the RFI/EMF specs weren't any better than Tripp-Lite. All in all, I think this was the most bang for the buck.
