Xbox announced today that it is holding its summer Games Showcase on June 9. It’s holding a double feature, similar to what it showed in 2023. Following the Games Showcase, it’ll hold “a special deep-dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise,” according to the company. It doesn’t specify what the game is, and the name is listed as [REDACTED] in all of the announcements, but there are a few candidates for what it could be.

The announcement doesn’t give specifics for any games that will be at the show, even those not part of the special [REDACTED] Direct. In an Xbox Wire post, the company says that this will be the first showcase to feature games from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and third-party partners all together. It’s possible we’ll see more footage from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the upcoming Fable game, or a new installment in the Gears of War franchise.

As for what [REDACTED] could be, a popular guess is a new Call of Duty: Black Ops title. The logo for the unnamed game is the same orange as that used in most Black Ops logos. Rumor has it that a new Black Ops title is in the works, set during the Gulf War, though that has not yet been confirmed. Last year’s Direct was focused on Starfield.

Xbox’s show airs shortly after Summer Game Fest’s opening event on June 7. Other events include the Ubisoft Forward, which airs on June 10 and the PC Gaming Show on June 9.
