Ubisoft has named Cécile Russeil as its new Executive Vice President of Communications, Corporate Affairs, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, Human Resources and Legal.

Russeil has worked for Ubisoft for more than 30 years in key leadership positions. In 2000, she formed the French publisher’s legal function. Prior to this promotion, she served as the company’s Chief Legal Officer for the last decade. Additionally, Russeil was a member of the company’s executive committee since 2022.

“With more than thirty years’ experience at Ubisoft, Cécile offers invaluable experience in steering international teams and navigating complex cross-functional initiatives,” said Yves Guillemot, cofounder and CEO of Ubisoft. Her relentless pursuit of excellence and dedication to our teams are acknowledged and valued by all. I am fully confident in her capability to embrace this new challenge and inspire the teams in these key areas, to drive Ubisoft’s sustained growth.”

Ubisoft plans to leverage Russeil’s international business law expertise and knowledge of the company’s organizational culture in her new role.

“I am incredibly motivated to bring together the leadership of these key functions in order to enhance our organizational agility and ensure seamless alignment between corporate affairs, communications, DIA, HR, and legal strategies across all our global operations,” said Cécile Russeil, EVP at Ubisoft. “I am looking forward to leveraging our unique organizational culture and these teams’ innovative, driven mindset to continue to transform the company and deliver growth and value for all our stakeholders.”

With oversight into DEI, HR and Legal matters, Russeil is in a position to drive positive change at the company. In recent years, Ubisoft faced allegations of sexual assault and harassment. In October 2023, French police arrested five former employees after investigating these allegations.

Russeil’s new role also consolidates a number of positions at the company. The role includes some responsibilities of Ubisoft’s former Chief People Officer, Anika Grant, who left the company six months ago.
