Skybound returns to Republic crowdfunding to fund Invincible title

Skybound Entertainment announced today that it has launched its second crowdfunding campaign on the Republic platform. The funds raised in this public equity campaign will go towards developing Skybound’s triple-A title based on the Invincible IP. The campaign opens today and remains open through April 29.

Republic’s platform offers fans a chance to invest in Skybound’s game. Unlike the previous crowdfunding campaign, which asked for a $500 minimum investment, this new 2024 campaign asks for $100 minimum. Investors receive additional perks, though at this time it’s not clear if those who invest more get more bonuses for their contribution. According to its Republic page, Skybound is using its Insiders system to help reward investors.

Skybound doesn’t reveal very many details about the new Invincible game, except that it’s being developed by a team of 30 and overseen by creator Robert Kirkman personally. This is not Skybound’s first Invincible title, as it published Invincible Presents: Atom Eve late last year. It also launched a Fortnite map called Rise of the Sequids last week.

Dave Alpert, Skybound CEO, said in a statement, “We are thrilled to launch this Regulation Crowdfunding campaign on Republic, inviting fans to join us on this new expansion and venture. At Skybound, we prioritize fostering meaningful connections with our audience, and this initiative allows fans to not only immerse themselves in the world of Invincible but also to directly contribute to its expansion.”
