HiberWorld, a web-based game creation tool, has enhanced its platform with new gameplay modes over the last few months. Players and creators can now explore worlds in first-person mode, drive vehicles, compete against fellow players in matches or go old school with side-scrolling worlds.

Hiber added these modes in particular to help the platform to cater to its growing player base. When Hiber added vehicles and races in January, users created over 1,000 racing worlds in less than a week. Today, the platform hosts over 5.5 million user created worlds.

“Our goal at HiberWorld goes beyond simply expanding our offerings; it’s about unlocking endless creative possibilities for our users,” said Michael Yngfors, CEO of Hiber. “We believe that variety is the cornerstone of creativity, and by introducing diverse modes, we’re not just offering new ways to play and create — we’re opening doors to innovation. We can’t wait to see what our users will come up with!”

Since its founding in 2017, Gothenburg, Sweden-based Hiber has aimed to democratize 3D world creation. The free-to-use platform has invested in AI-based no-code tools to facilitate game creation. In January, the company launched its AI World Creator that is currently in alpha testing. Similarly, Hiber’s web-based games can be embedded in existing websites or played on mobile, enabling access.

These newer developers can join React developers who gained access to the Hiber3D engine through the Hiber3D Development Kit (HDK) last year. To demonstrate the power of the HDK, Hiber has developed its own first-party games for the HiberWorld platform. The HiberLabs series covers a range of genres including thrillers, vehicle-wrestling sumo cars and its own side-scroller series.

In addition to these new modes, Hiber plans to add more monetization opportunities in future updates. To date, Hiber has raised $19.5 million in funding.
