The biggest mistake you’ll make in recruitment: Ignoring tech adoption. Many agencies have Bullhorn Automation. But they aren’t using it effectively. These 5 things change everything: 1. Audit current processes and identify bottlenecks 2. Invest in expert advice to optimise your CRM 3. Train recruiters on automated tools and processes 4. Implement targeted automation to reduce busywork 5. Monitor and adjust based on real data Automation isn’t just about: - Hiring efficiency - Enhancing the candidate/client experience - Improving data health Sure, they’re important. ARV Solutions The Sales & Marketing Division is bucking national trends As reported by the HR Grapevine: The UK jobs market is “beginning to cool”, with wage growth still high and more people dropping out of the workforce, according to new data. The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures reveal that the unemployment rate jumped to 4.2% from 3.9% in February, which is the highest level in nearly six months. These latest figures indicate that economic uncertainty is taking its toll on UK employment. Core wages rose by the least since mid-2022 in the three months to February but remained strong by historical standards The ONS said there are "tentative signs that the jobs market is beginning to cool". ARV Solutions is very definitely bucking the trend in the first 5 months of 2024 (Jan through May) which have been the most successful that I have seen since joining the business back in 2012 to expand the Sales Recruitment Division. Demand for good sales people with demonstrable track records of success has never been so high and I'm glad to report that we are filling loads of great opportunities. Some really positive signs for the recruitment industry in Aprils market performance update from the Firefish Software Job Flow Index📈. TL;DR🚀: - Total volume of placements increased 28%. - Temp and Contract placements increased 38%. - Perm placements were down 3%. Further insights📖: - Jobs created increased 6% on the month. - Job Adverts were up 13%. - Perm Engineering placements were up by 18% as average Revenue per Recruiter grew 59% on the month. - Average Revenue per Recruiter in temp Construction increased by 54% and 38% in Blue Collar recruitment. The benefits to a #recruitmentagency of moving away from dependency of the traditional ‘no win no fee’ contingent business model are considerable.... and, the value it add to business enterprise value is significant. What's stopping you doing #rpo. As a #recruitmentleader does this sound familiar: - Love the idea but where do we start? - This is just too difficult, and will it be a big distraction? - We’ve thought about this before but is it really for us? - We don’t know how to sell let alone deliver RPO? - Sound expensive and we’d need to hire people to do this? - We’re too small to do this aren’t we? Ready & set for a morning of outbound! 📞 Anyone who '𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰' know me will understand I HATED cold calling. "Let me do the candidate stuff", like 90% of recruiters Although I've turned it into - a) something I enjoy b) believe it's critical to my survival Some people will say that's excessive - I believe it, that's what matters. Every day I make mistakes. Feels like they're HUGE, but they're not. At all. It's part of the game, keep it moving 🏃🏻‍♂️ Anyone who's looking to up their outbound game, 3 things that helped me and may help you... 1. 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴 𝘝𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 🐐 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 '𝘕𝘰'.        No's the beginning of the dialogue, not the end.         2. 𝘗𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 - 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬, 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?        Practice throwing in a reverse question to figure out the why... 🔄        "we get asked that question a lot... I imagine you're asking this question because (insert label) - am I off the mark?"    Usually they'll clarify their reason for asking         3. 𝘔𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 - "𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯?" 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 "𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 100% 𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 (𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘹)"?    i.e Are you 100% satisfied with the calibre of talent coming into your pipeline when hiring?" Why retained? 🤔 We recently closed off another retained mandate, this time with a Series B in North America. The context is important. This client were originally a contingent partner of Cognatio Solutions and we've had prior success with them, including hiring an EAE who went on to become their global top performer. As both of our businesses grew, their need for talent increased but the time we were able to commit to them reduced due to us having to prioritise new retained and RPO commitments with different customers. The client sought support from elsewhere, using multiple different agencies. They did not hire another sales person for almost 12 months. We re-introduced ourselves and the benefit of transitioning from Contingent to Retained. The client took the gamble. Weekly catch up calls & reports on candidates spoken with, market information/data on competitor businesses and a 7 person shortlist later, it took 49 days from job opening to candidate signature. A contingent search rarely benefits anybody.... If you are struggling to make a hire, or need to make a hire by a deadline... there is a solution.

The good stuff: 🥳 Good candidates from a few weeks ago have secured new roles ☎️ We've had a flurry of existing client partners looking to hire people 🤝 We've partnered with new clients who have plans to grow their teams 🚀 Hiring sentiment feels warmer and discussions of growth are happening 🙌 According to our government, Australia 🇦🇺 will need 650,000 tech people by 2030! SDR/BDRs are you looking for your next role but not progressing to interview? It’s a tough job market right now so here are a few tips on how to be seen and stand out from the crowd:   - Sales is all about numbers – Include your targets and what you achieved on your LinkedIn profile AND your CV. - Include awards that you’ve won on your LinkedIn and CV. - Cold-calling and cold outreach is an important daily activity as a S/BDR. Call or Email the Hiring Manager and let them know that you’ve applied and why you would be a good fit. Qualify the opportunity just like you would a prospect. - Your CV should be clean and concise. Remove irrelevant information and keep within 1-2 pages. Add your LinkedIn URL. - Reach out to Recruiters (like me🙋🏻‍♀️) who can get you in front of the hiring teams quicker.   What do you guys think?
