A couple of weeks ago I posted about one of the main challenges that Care providers come up against when it comes to marketing - lack of strategy / a clear plan. So, if you’re a care provider reading this and you think, what’s the first step I should take to build a strategy? Then here it is…. Start simple. Know what you do, who you do it for, and why people choose your business. That's your foundation. Then figure out where these people spend their time, and share your message there. In the latest Priorities and Operational Planning Guidance 2024/25, NHS England has included objectives for the digital maturity of all NHS systems to drive its three main goals: 🎯 Recovering core services and productivity 🎯 Making progress in delivering the key ambitions in the Long Term Plan 🎯 Continue to transform the NHS for the future Some of the main objectives for the digital maturity of all NHS systems are: ✅ All NHS systems are to “continue to deliver the commitments set out in the strategic plans for the digitisation of services to support integration and service transformation: A plan for digital health and social care and Data Saves Lives.” ✅ All NHS systems are to “continue to support the levelling up of provider digital maturity across all sectors, with a focus on deploying and upgrading electronic patient record systems in line with the What Good Looks Like framework.” This is to “ensure plans are improving adherence to standards for well led digital leadership and will deliver smart foundation for basic digital infrastructure”. ✅ NHS systems are to “support and prioritise the implementation of the Federated Data Platform (FDP) to support elective recovery, care co-ordination (including optimising discharge), population health management and vaccination programmes.” Sophie Bullimore asked experts in digital healthcare, including Altera Digital Health UK to share their opinion on the Guidance and the objectives. Finding solutions and interventions that help people reduce their risk of developing the condition has never been more urgent. ⚠️ That’s why we were proud to help our client, Meddbase, and the NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), to reach, educate and convert other ICBs to use Meddbase’s technology to increase uptake of referrals to the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, a clinically effective approach for drastically cutting the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. 📉 The results? Our CEO & co-founder Jacob Haddad spoke to Times Radio about the urgent need for staff to be given tech that streamlines waiting lists and improves patient care. He said: "Today's figures demonstrate the critical need for a whole systems approach to healthcare, it's not just about minor tweaks; it's about fundamentally rethinking how care is delivered and ensuring the system is joined up." Jacob also emphasised the importance of leveraging communication platforms to reduce waiting lists and improve efficiency. "By contacting patients with simple questions, we've found that many can be removed from waiting lists because they no longer need treatment." During my Oxford course, I interviewed healthcare and life sciences marketing managers to learn about: 🤕 Their pain points when working with agencies. 🎉 How they benefit from working with agencies. 🧠 The functional, emotional, and social context of their work. (I used Strategyzer's Customer Value Proposition Canvas—a great tool for crafting a Value Prop—link in the comments.) These interviews revealed insights I'd missed in 10+ years in the industry. And they also helped fund WellChild, a charity providing essential support for seriously ill children and their families across the UK by offer a range of services, including home nursing care, family support networks, and the creation of safe home enviroments. I decided to reward each interviewee's kindness with a £25 donation. I'd like to reach £1000 by year-end, which means I need about 20 more conversations.
