Exciting news from Amazon Web Services (AWS): The launch of the AWS European Sovereign Cloud! This new, independent cloud is designed to meet the strictest data residency and operational autonomy requirements for public sector organizations and highly regulated industries. The first region is set to launch in Germany by the end of 2025 with a €7.8 billion investment by 2040. This is a major commitment from AWS to supporting European digital sovereignty. I'm particularly excited about the positive impact this will have on the region: - €17.2 billion estimated contribution to Germany's GDP by 2040. - Creation of highly skilled jobs in cloud and IT. - Investment in cloud workforce development programs.
