The recent global #CrowdStrike IT outage serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities present in our interconnected world today. The flawed update led to huge disruptions in essential sectors such as healthcare, transport and finance, affecting over 8.5 million Windows 365 devices. Some key impacts include: ✈️ #Airports globally saw huge delays, with over 3,300 flights cancelled. 🏥 Over 3,500 businesses, including essential services, experienced significant operational delays. Many reported a temporary loss of access to critical #security services which impacted millions of users. 💸 Financial losses across sectors are estimated to be in the hundreds of millions due to operational downtime and security risks. 🛡️ Attempted #Cyber attacks increased by 20% during the outage, exploiting the temporary vulnerability in protection. 🚨 Security teams across affected companies reported an 80% surge in alert volumes and false positives, leading to increased workload and stress. 📞 Over 10,000 customer enquiries and complaints were recorded via CrowdStrike's support channels and social media. 📊 CrowdStrike's stock price fell by 3% immediately after the outage announcement, equal to approximately £1.2 billion.
