Last night was the grand opening of Craft Union Pub Company's 600th pub, the newly transformed Fleece & Flagon in Witney!  Just last year, Craft Union hit its 500th pub milestone, and today, we're proud to say another 100 pubs have been added to the family. This rapid growth is a testament to our mission, bringing people together through our passion for great pubs, bars and venues. 🍻 The Fleece & Flagon, formerly known as the Chequers Inn, has received a huge renovation, breathing new life into the historic building. With a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced sports viewing, and a new state-of-the-art dart board area, it's the perfect place for the local community to gather.    The Mayor of Witney, Councillor Owen Collins, officially opened the pub alongside new pub operator, Kylie Downie, Stonegate Group CEO, David McDowall, and representatives from the Witney & West Oxfordshire Food Bank. In celebration of the 600th pub, Craft Union donated £600 to the local charity, which is dedicated to combatting poverty and hunger in the region. Guests at the event also generously contributed food donations. The Fleece and Flagon continues its opening celebrations from August 2nd to 4th, where the community can enjoy live music, DJ sets, karaoke, BBQ, face painting, a photo booth and an ABBA tribute act. Not only do we have a passionate team of dedicated coaches and trainers that support our people through our internal pathways, but we also connect our teams with a whole host of additional learning opportunities through our apprenticeship partnerships. Meet Ross H., Digital Marketing Manager from our Commercial team, who has recently successfully completed his ‘Team Leader or Supervisor Apprenticeship’. Slug & Lettuce Albert Square reopened in Manchester last Friday after an impressive £650k renovation. Albert Square joins Deansgate, Birmingham and Solihull as the fourth site to showcase the brand’s evolved concept, creating the ultimate social destination. For years, Slug & Lettuce has been the go-to spot for friends, colleagues and loved ones to come together to celebrate life’s key moments. The revamped Albert Square venue is designed with this is mind, offering a seamless transition from day to night, no matter the occasion. 🍹 Simon Pugsley, the newly appointed General Manager of Slug & Lettuce Albert Square, said: “The investment into Deansgate completely transformed the venue and the Albert Square venue is set to be just as incredible. The Albert Square team and I are looking forward to welcoming our guests back to the new-look venue and we can’t wait to start a new chapter for the site. It’s definitely going to be the new ‘must-visit’ place in Manchester!” The investment into the venue makes it the brand’s fourth site to undergo a substantial transformation, bringing the total investment to more than £2,600,000 with roll out planned across multiples sites in the UK – we can’t wait to see what else Slug & Lettuce have in store! 🦩

Loved and cherished by the community for over thirty years, Halfway to Heaven is the perfect pairing of a local bar upstairs, and magical cabaret venue downstairs. Here they share what pride means to them, and how they've created a true sense of community in their venue.

Here at Stonegate, we are extremely proud of our Learning and Development pathways for both our front and back-of-house teams, as well as our Pub Support Team.
