    #APPRECIATION POST This picture was taken 7 years ago when Sleek Events celebrated our first office in Richmond, with enough space for a handful of people. This week I have had the pleasure in preparing for next weeks offsite, where we will be taking over the Fish in the #Cotswold. Next week we get to spoil #TeamSleek & celebrate a growing list of accolades. Not to mention welcome back 3 members of the team who went to spread their wings for a little. Taking the time to stop, pause, and reflect is crucial for truly appreciating our achievements. Forever grateful for each and everyone of those who have & continue to make this #Dream a reality.     ***LUNCHTIME READING*** It’s so exciting to see such a surge in demand for live experiences, even the recent IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) Bellwether report highlighted events as the "stand-out" marketing category with a record budget increase.    My latest thought leadership article, published by Advertising Week delves into the key things marketers can consider to help understand and measure the true impact of events on brand and business growth.    Unsurprisingly, brands are keen to capitalise on that demand. But we know some marketers struggle to prove the ROI of events.     🏎 G O O D W O O D . F E S T I V A L . O F . S P E E D 🏎 I was lucky enough to be at The Goodwood Group #FOS yesterday. These were my top highlights and takeaways from the day. Activations on stands 🚀 BMW Group smashed it with a 3 piece throughout the day. A guitarist, singer and beatboxer. With the sun shining, the crowds gathered to listen to this talented trio! It most definitely gained attention. Ford Motor Company had interactions with attendees with their peloton bike experience. In conjunction with the All-Electric Capri, attendees were put to work on the pelotons, playing a bike game,and the goal was to win the race! BYD the official sponsor for the UEFA EURO 2024 targeted the younger market and had tv’s where you could play FIFA and a mini-football game. Most stands had DJ’s bringing the vibes and it was such a good atmosphere! Design led cars 🎨 BMW Group showcased the BMW i5 flow NOSTOKANA. This car combines the technology of the colour changing exteriors which has been developed by BMW with the aesthetic style of South African Ndebele artist Esher Mahlangu. I’ve never seen anything like this and it really grabbed the attention of the attendees. The car features electrically animated film segments, the unique piece embodies the latest development stage of the colour-changing technology for vehicle surfaces created in collaboration with the E Ink Corporation. Face to face 😄 Goodwood was very busy! It was so nice to see so many people, of all ages enjoying the event. This was my first time attending, and I will 100% be returning. Reinstates my obsession with Formula 1 🏁 Daniel Ricciardo, Sergio Perez, David Coulthard, Mark Webber, Adrian Newey and Max Verstappen. What a lineup! Celebrating 20 years of Red Bull, we were lucky enough to witness such incredible talent in different Red Bull F1 cars doing the Hill Climb. Danny Ric gave us a show with donuts and the other just opened up on the straight and if you blinked you would have missed them! My favourite part was walking around the paddock at 7:30am, whilst it was still quiet and seeing all the cars before they went on the track. Such an incredible experience being able to see these cars up close and personal whilst the mechanics were still working on them. I look forward to heading there next year with Sleek Events! Maybe I'll get to shout at Danny Ric again that I love him 😳

    A recent post from Elly Walsh made me realise a lot of what we do at Sleek Events unfortunately still isn’t normality. As business leaders, we have the ability to make changes that benefit everyone in the workplace, and we should embrace that. I believe experience and drive trump age on the resume. That's why we're proud to offer industry-leading policies that empower individuals throughout their careers, including women during the menopause. I was shocked to find out that a quarter of women say menopause has negatively impacted their career progression according to a CIPD survey. Whilst it’s of course a life changing period of time for all women to go through, it shouldn't be a roadblock to success. Here's how Sleek is making a difference: · Open Dialogue: We champion open communication about health issues like menopause through our Women's Health Principles. This fosters a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable discussing their needs. · Flexible Work: Core Hours and a focus on results, not just time spent in the office, which allows you to manage your workload effectively. · Focus on Equity: Our Career Frameworks ensure fair pay and expectations, regardless of negotiation skills. We'll also be reporting on Gender Pay to ensure transparency. · Inclusive Recruitment: We don't limit opportunities by experience or qualifications, opening doors to those with valuable skills who might not fit a traditional mould.     Age matters in the job market! And yes, you heard me say it out loud. I’m in my late 40s, feeling like I am still 20 and still passionate about my work. So why are we being overlooked? Let's not sugarcoat it: ageism is rampant in the events and marketing industry, and let's face it, in most industries, and it's time we call it out. After years in this field, I’ve seen just how much age can impact your chances of landing a job. In my 20s and 30s, I didn’t notice it because, well, it didn’t affect me. Sadly, now, it’s glaringly obvious. The world is getting better at addressing issues like maternity leave (not actually being 'leave') and mental health in the workplace, but the good old age gap is still flying under the radar! Why are we ignoring this? This isn’t about pitting one age group against another. It’s about acknowledging the biases that exist and advocating for fairer, more inclusive hiring practices. Age should be seen as an asset, not a deterrent. Let's foster a job market that values diversity in experience, knowledge, and perspective.     Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024! 🏎 🔥 From 11 to 14 July, motor enthusiasts will descend on the Goodwood Estate for the famed automotive event. This year the festival is honouring the evolution of engines with the catchphrase ‘Horseless to Hybrid,’ referencing the development from the first ‘horseless’ carriages to modern electric cars. We are excited to announce that our very own Nastassja Keenes will be attending! Make sure to connect with her if you’re there and share in the excitement of this spectacular event.     I throughly enjoyed reading this article today, showcasing some innovation at this year's #GlastonburyFestival. The Hayes Pavilion was built using a biomaterial made out of seaweed. It's really exciting to see what design agencies like re:right design are doing in the festival and events space and is such useful insights for our own creative team at Sleek Events.
