A charity that enables young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing
About us
The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based charity with the mission to enable young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing and digital technologies. Our vision Our vision is that every young person develops: • The knowledge, skills, and confidence to use computers and digital technologies effectively in their work, community, and personal life; to solve problems and to express themselves creatively • Sufficient understanding of societal and ethical issues to be able to critically evaluate digital technologies and their application, and to design and use technology for good • The mindsets that enable them to confidently engage with technological change and to continue learning about new and emerging technologies Our long-term goals 1. Education: To enable any school to teach students about computing and how to create with digital technologies, through providing the best possible curriculum, resources, and training for teachers. 2. Non-formal learning: To engage millions of young people in learning about computing and how to create with digital technologies outside of school, through online resources and apps, clubs, competitions, and partnerships with youth organisations. 3. Research: To deepen our understanding of how young people learn about computing and how to create with digital technologies, and we use that knowledge to increase the impact of our work and advance the field of computing education.

A lovely update from our partners Kenya Connect and Team4Tech 🥰 Learn more about our work in Kenya: rpf.io/blog-ke-edtech-hub It's incredible to see the impact of our work and partnership.
Nancy, a teacher from Kyawango Primary School, expressed, "Code clubs have been transformative for our students, sparking a newfound interest in technology." Maxwell, a grade six student at the same school, noted, "I have gained coding skills during code club sessions that will help me in the future. I want to be a computer engineer." Thank you Raspberry Pi Foundation and Team4Tech for partnering with us to implement coding clubs at 43 partner schools! It is an important step to bridging the digital divide. #Coding #technology #digitaldivide #makingadifference

AI Learning Manager @ Raspberry Pi Foundation | Harvard Graduate School of Education | MIT | Fulbright Scholar
I'm thrilled to announce a brand-new, free AI course on edX, co-presented by yours truly and the delightful Salome Tirado Okeze ✨ This was my first project since starting at the Raspberry Pi Foundation as an AI Learning Manager, and I'm incredibly proud of what my team has been able to produce 🙌 This course, titled Teach Teens Computing: Understanding AI for Educators, is a collaboration between Google DeepMind and the Raspberry Pi Foundation, and designed for educators of *all backgrounds* (including parents and club volunteers) who would like to learn more about AI, Machine Learning, text and image generators, and how to use these AI tools with their students. If you want to... 📚 Build your knowledge about the types of AI systems, both predictive and generative ⚖ Evaluate the impacts of AI tools on work and education, and how you and your learners can ethically use AI tools 🔍 Investigate the types of problems that AI tools can help to solve and recognise their limitations ❗ Consider the risks of using AI tools, and how you can help mitigate these risks for your learners 👩💻 👨💻 Get hands-on experience using AI text and image generators, and discover how knowing more about how these tools work can help you improve their outputs ... then come and learn with us! 🙋♀️ Link to register here: https://lnkd.in/g7SE4fFx
