    🌟 Recruitment Trends and Outlook for H2 2024🌟 Well I am sure we can agree a lot has happened in the past few weeks. As we step into H2, I wanted to look at the trends in our data at Pivotal London in the short-term (Q2 ‘24 vs Q1 ‘24) and then mid-term (H1 ’24 VS H2 ‘23). 📊 Q2 2024 vs. Q1 2024: 😬 Reduction in job flow * New Jobs Per Recruiter: -7.36% * Candidates Per Recruiter: -10.35% * CVs Per Recruiter: -16.99% * Interviews Per Recruiter: -18.72% * Placements Per Recruiter: +2.11% While placements saw a slight increase, other key metrics we measure like new jobs and interviews decreased. This aligns with feedback from the market that Q2 was notoriously tough for job seekers because of lack of roles and increased competition. HOWEVER…. When looking at a 6-month comparison, things are going in the right direction. 📈 H1 2024 vs. H2 2023: Clear uplift in job flow * New Jobs Per Recruiter: +12.24% * Candidates Per Recruiter: +17.38% * CVs Per Recruiter: +29.58% * Interviews Per Recruiter: +30.82% * Placements Per Recruiter: +53.21% Comparably, yes whilst H1 2024 was challenging (Q2 in particular), compared to H2 2023, our data clearly points that the market improved for new jobs. 🔮 What’s Next for H2 2024: Feeling Optimistic * Economic Factors: With inflation now at 2% and predictions the Base Rate will drop 7 times in the next 18 months, we can expect reduced mortgage rates and therefore more disposable income for us consumers. Borrowing will become cheaper for businesses too. * Political Landscape: Highly complex globally but we have a new government in the UK who should fight hard to support economic growth * Corporate Strategies: After 18 months of companies prioritising profit over growth, companies have cash and will gear up for growth in 2025. We’d expect will be more activity in the VC community, particularly in AI investments. And then Google reverse their decision to kill third-party cookies last night! Those working in the adtech space at the coal face of this will have a far deeper knowledge than I around the implications, but the initial sentiment seems to be relief from a lot of people; and frustration in other camps having invested £millions and years of time in trying to future proof themselves. And then the same day a large client of Pivotal London ask us to make 50 hires in 3 months for them! 😊 Never a dull moment and things change at a moment's notice. Here’s to an encouraging H2 for new job creation and an improving climate for those looking for new roles. After 7 years and 6 roles, a new picture was needed. Senior Manager at Pivotal London, leading our in-house marketing and product division. We have carved a real niche working with high growth VC/PE backed businesses to build leadership teams and internal functions. Our sweet spot and the core market has become the inception point between marketing, product and growth. 🚀 I have always loved working with ambitious founders and investors, taking new ideas and products to market as an extension of their brand and vision. I'd like to think story telling is a strength of mine! Outside work, I am a fitness, sports, and adventure fanatic. I love doing hard things! Otherwise, you'll find me behind a BBQ or bar enjoying myself. I was fortunate enough to relocate back to Bristol and the South West during the pandemic. But I find myself in London most weeks attending client meetings and work events. For me, the best of both worlds. As we make inroads into H2 and rebound out of #thegreatstay and a long period of low attrition, we are expecting an interesting end to the year.     Awesome start to the week! 🎯 COO - Offer accepted and candidate starting this month with a founder-led D2C start-up. 🎯 Head of Growth - Offer accepted by a fantastic candidate for a VC-backed series A SaaS business. 🤝 A new client meeting, with 2 new roles incoming.
