  • 🌱 Understanding the Differences Between Polyolefins and PET in Plastic Recycling ♻️ When it comes to plastic recycling, not all plastics are created equal. Polyolefins (like polyethylene and polypropylene) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) are two widely used types of plastics, but they have distinct characteristics that make it crucial to recycle them separately. Polyolefins (PE & PP): 📦 Found in: Milk jugs, detergent bottles, plastic bags, yogurt containers. 🛡️ Properties: High chemical resistance, good tensile strength, and flexibility. 🌊 Density: Less dense than water (floats). 🔥 Melting Point: 120-170°C for PE, 160-170°C for PP. PET: 🥤 Found in: Beverage bottles, food packaging, synthetic fibers. 💪 Properties: High tensile strength, rigidity, and good chemical resistance. 🌊 Density: Denser than water (sinks). 🔥 Melting Point: Around 250°C. Why Keep Them Separate for Recycling? 🔄 Different Recycling Processes: Polyolefins and PET need distinct recycling methods due to their chemical structure and melting points. 🚫 Contamination Issues: Mixing these plastics can reduce the quality and usability of recycled materials. 💰 Economic Factors: Separating plastics by type ensures efficient, cost-effective recycling, yielding higher-quality recycled products. 🌍 Environmental Impact: Proper separation reduces landfill waste, improves recycling efficiency, and lowers environmental emissions. By understanding and implementing proper plastic separation, we can enhance the efficiency and sustainability of our recycling efforts. 🌍✨ #Sustainability #Recycling #PlasticRecycling #Polyolefins #PET #CircularEconomy

  • Why don't we burn plastic to identify it anymore? 🔥🚫 Burning plastic to identify its type is outdated and harmful. Here are a few reasons why: Environmental Impact: Burning plastic releases toxic fumes and pollutants into the air, harming both the environment and human health. Health Risks: The smoke from burning plastic contains hazardous chemicals that can cause respiratory issues and other health problems. Accuracy: Modern technology, like our plastic scanner, provides fast and precise identification without the risks associated with burning. Regulations: Many regions have strict regulations against burning plastics due to its harmful effects. Join us at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe on June 19th-20th at stand 9-195 to see how our plastic scanner can help you identify plastics quickly and safely! #Sustainability #PlasticRecycling #Innovation #PRS
