We are proud to have supported Fertiglobe in the preparation and application for a first-of-its kind auction to supply up to 397,000 tons of renewable ammonia to the EU by 2033.   Fertiglobe, which will produce certified renewable ammonia from hydrogen generated solely from wind and solar power in Egypt, was awarded the contract by H2Global, a funding program backed by the German Ministry for the Economy and Climate to accelerate the global market for hydrogen and its derivatives.   Our involvement included:   ✔ Consortium coordination: Supporting the project team in reviewing and interpreting competition requirements and validating all submission materials.   ✔ Environmental and social impact assessment: Demonstrating the project's alignment with environmental and social standards required by the competition body.   ✔ Paris Agreement and SDG alignment assessment: Evaluating the project's contribution to the Paris Agreement and UN Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring it met strict sustainability criteria.   We look forward to working with Fertiglobe and its consortium partners to support the global energy transition and help pave the way for a more sustainable future.   #RenewableAmmonia #RenewableEnergy #GlobalEnergyTransition

As we gear up for the year ahead, it's crucial to take a moment to look back at our achievements over the past 12 months. We're proud of the strides we've made and are committed to stepping up to build on this success and drive real change in the world.   These numbers represent our genuine impact. But what do they actually mean?   - Treating water and removing contaminants – means we’re safeguarding nature and biodiversity. 💧   - Supporting renewable energy projects – means we’re contributing to the tripling of renewable energy by 2030. 🔋 - Contributing expertise to strategic partners– means we’re supporting them to make a lasting impact across biodiversity, climate action, and social sustainability. 🤝 - Leading the global conversation on sustainability– means we’re providing businesses with actionable insights to help understand the risks and opportunities created by the sustainability transformation. 🌏 - Engaging executives to drive safety leadership – means we’re helping leaders create a safer, healthier, more engaged, and more productive workforce. 👷♀️   While we’re proud of these achievements, we’re also excited about stepping up to drive more action. In June and July, the US Supreme Court issued several landmark decisions that shifted the regulatory landscape for businesses in the energy sector. In a decision released on June 28, 2024, the Court overturned the long-standing Chevron doctrine and abolished the principle of judicial deference to an administrative agency’s interpretation of ambiguous statutes. Historically, Chevron deference granted agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission latitude in interpreting regulations. Instead, the new Loper Bright decision requires courts to conduct a judicial review of agency actions, applying their judgment without deferring to the agencies. This marks a significant shift in regulatory interpretation that amplifies risks for businesses in the US energy sector. As many would confirm - taking an afternoon nap, siesta, or power nap can effectively recharge your energy levels and alleviate evening fatigue. However, as highlighted by Hintsa Performance, renowned performance coaches and experts, during our internal “Rest Well“ campaign, it is crucial to acknowledge that napping during this time may also negatively impact nighttime rest. It has been proven that shorter power naps lasting 10-20 minutes can be highly beneficial, while longer naps lasting 90 minutes can be challenging and may disrupt your sleep. If you frequently feel the urge to nap in the afternoon, it may indicate that you need to ensure better quality sleep at night. So, it is important to prioritize your nighttime sleep to avoid the need for napping during the day.

We all have a role to play in sustainable food systems, as the issues at hand can only be addressed through collaboration across the food and packaging value chains. ERM recently collaborated with Booking.com and UN Tourism to create a course for hotel, B&B, and restaurant operators, focusing on sustainable food management and highlighting easy wins and more complex initiatives and campaigns. Rob Fetter, ERM’s Principal Consultant, Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change, who put together the advice for the service providers, hopes everyone can find useful takeaways for approaching this global issue. “As a consumer, I found assembling all this info and identifying manageable solutions helped me focus where to change my buying decisions, and even to make supportive suggestions at a few spots I frequent.“ Other courses in the series address energy, water, and community engagement.
