About us

Founded by George and Margaret Baxter in the Highlands of Scotland in 1868, Baxters Food Group has over 150 years of provenance and history. Today Baxters Food Group is a fourth-generation family business headquartered in Scotland and led by Executive Chairman and Group CEO, Audrey Baxter. We are a multi-million-pound global food manufacturer, with facilities across Europe, North America and Australia. We produce superior quality, ambient foods with amazing flavour, from soups, jams and condiments, to ready meals, military rations, and baby food. Our diverse customers include world-renowned retailers selling high-profile brands in multiple global markets. In a highly competitive and fast paced market, Baxters aims to delight its customers with both the quality of our products and our outstanding customer service. Innovation and new product development have always been key drivers of our business. We continually invest in our ability to meet changing consumer tastes, trends and desire for healthy eating. New concepts, flavours and processes, all help us create today’s market-leading products. At Baxters, we are just as particular about the people we employ as we are about the ingredients we use in our recipes. So, it goes without saying that we need people who share our passion, quality and aspire to 'be different, be better'; an ethos inspired by George Baxter back in 1868.

Well done to our two Career Ready interns, Adam and Alex, who recently completed a four-week work placement at our Fochabers site 👏. With support from their mentors, Diane Harper, European Payroll, Tax, AP & AR Manager, and Susie Irwin, Head of Technical, Adam and Alex undertook various tasks with our NPD and Thermal Process departments. Along with a number of meetings and learning sessions with various functions across the business, they were also given some practical project work to complete. What did Adam and Alex get from their placements? - Learnt a huge amount about the world of work. - Met lots of knew people. - Built their confidence and skills. - Understood more about Baxters, our range of products and the size and scale of our business. - Discovered the wide variety of roles and all the different aspects involved in food production.  - Experienced some fun and interesting tasks, including cooking in the kitchen and creating their own recipes! - Gained a better idea of what they would like to do in the future. Thanks to Diane and Susie for their ongoing support and also to everyone in the Fochabers team who shared their time, experience and knowledge with Adam and Alex over the last four weeks. We look forward to hearing about their continued progress throughout the remainder of their Career Ready programme! #socialmobility #careerready #internships #workexperience #bedifferent #bebetter

This year’s Royal Highland Show was another huge success, with our team dishing out over 20,000 samples across the course of the event! The crowds came in their droves and we loved meeting the attendees who took the time to visit us and our Baxters of Scotland colleagues. Many spoke fondly and passionately about our brand as they sampled and purchased some of our fantastic products, including our soups, jams, chutneys, relishes and popular Kimchi, while learning more about the different ways to use them to elevate meals and snacks. Thank you to everyone in our team who helped with organising and attending the event, which was one of our most successful yet! #RHS2024 #Scotlandslarder #teamwork #bedifferent #bebetter

We are delighted to support social mobility charity, Career Ready, by welcoming two interns to our Fochabers site on a work experience programme. Adam and Alex, who both started their sixth year at local high schools recently, joined us earlier this week to begin a four-week work placement. During this time, they will gain practical skills, such as CV writing and interview techniques, and work experience within our NPD (new product development) and Thermal Process departments to help prepare them for the future beyond school. Adam and Alex are settling in well thanks to their mentors, Diane Harper and Susie Irwin, and the NPD and Thermal Process teams who are supporting them during their internships. We wish them both all the best and look forward to seeing their progression! Thank you and well done to everyone across our UK sites who took part in the ‘Baxters May Challenge – Every Mile Matters’, helping to raise £2,135 for the Mental Health Foundation! We had a great response as our team stepped up to the challenge by getting active with a movement-based activity during Mental Health Awareness Week. Walking, running, cycling, swimming, rowing and even skiing helped us reach 2,135 miles, with £1 donated to the Mental Health Foundation via the Baxters Giving Programme for every mile achieved. What a team 💪💜! #mentalhealthawareness #MomentsforMovement #bedifferent #bebetter

Congratulations to the talented team, Lucky Four, from Milne’s High School on taking top spot in this year’s Soup Challenge! Emily, Erin, Hannah and Phoebe were crowned winners for their incredible ‘Delizia Italiana’ soup. The team’s hearty Italian-inspired recipe, which featured a mixture of pasta, meat, vegetables and herbs, provided the perfect nutritional balance and blend of flavours! A fun jingle, eye-catching labelling and well considered costings and pricing completed the package. Six S2 teams from Elgin Academy, Milne's High School and Speyside High School took part in this year’s final at UHI Moray. Each team had to create a soup recipe that had at least two nutritional benefits, was packed with flavour but would also be cost effective for consumers. Delivered in partnership with DYW (Developing the Young Workforce) Moray, the Soup Challenge offers young people in Moray the opportunity to learn new enterprise skills and see firsthand the range of careers the food manufacturing industry can offer. Well done to all the teams who took part in the challenge, particularly our six finalists and thanks to everyone from the Baxters team and DYW Moray who have been involved for their support and time to ensure we delivered another successful and inspiring event this year. We all agree that it’s great to nourish the potential of the young people in our local community and hopefully all of the pupils involved have gained some new skills and confidence from being part of the challenge. Our Easter Appeal saw egg-cellent suggestions rolling in from our team!   Thanks to their nominations, hundreds of eggs have been distributed to organisations near our sites, offices and in the localities where our employees live to support those who might otherwise have missed out on some sweet treats this Easter.   These include: - Moray Food Plus, Moray - Broke Not Broken, Kinross-shire - Spartans Community Foundation, Edinburgh - The Salvation Army, Edinburgh - Cannock & District Food Bank, Staffordshire - Home Start Colchester, Jaywick & Clacton, Essex - Dom Dziecka Droga w Wolsztynie – a children’s orphanage in Wolsztyn, Poland - Seven kindergartens in Wolsztyn, Poland   A donation was also made to Sufra NW London, a charity that prevents hunger, fights poverty and builds community in North West London, to support its Ramadan Appeal. During the holy month of Ramadan, the charity’s community kitchen aims to provide 35,000 meals to those most in need, welcoming those of all faiths and no faith.   It’s a privilege to support the work of these wonderful organisations and we hope the donations will help spread a little joy.  #community #easter2024 #charity #givingback #bedifferent #bebetter

The energy was high at UHI Moray last week as the 2024 Soup Challenge finalists brainstormed brilliant business plans for their original soup recipes! Second-year pupils from Elgin Academy, Milne’s High School and Speyside High School built upon skills learned from art, business, home economics and maths subjects to devise their plans. The finalists were supported by Baxters very-own Craig Smith, Jude Smart and Kloe Paton, who advised the groups on costing, branding, and flavour. Carinne Taylor from DYW (Developing the Young Workforce) Moray helped lead the day and coached the pupils on delivering a stellar presentation. These six souper-star groups now make final adjustments before the grand finale in May – where they will showcase their soups to a senior panel of Baxters judges who will decide upon the winner. Competition is certainly heating up! #bedifferent #bebetter #baxterssoupchallenge
