We're thrilled to announce that the ground-breaking film producer, curator, writer and former Director of Edinburgh International Film Festival Lynda Myles is to receive the BAFTA Scotland Award for Outstanding Contribution to Film at a special event this August.   Myles made history in 1973 as the first woman ever to be appointed as a film festival director anywhere in the world. She went on to receive a BAFTA as a producer of The Commitments in 1992, and mentored a new generation of filmmakers as Head of Fiction at The National Film & Television School from 2004 to 2016. 📸 EIFF / Pako Mera

On Monday night we gathered to celebrate our out-going cohort of BAFTA Elevate Producers. We also welcomed back alumni from our previous three BAFTA Elevate cohorts of female directors, writers, and actors and had the pleasure of hearing from a representative from each of these groups about their experiences of participating in the programme and what they’ve been up to since. Since its launch in 2017, BAFTA Elevate has worked with 74 extraordinary participants. The research-based programme was created to identify and address underrepresentation in the industry through testimonials and interviews with industry practitioners. Huge congratulations again to our BAFTA Elevate Producers 2022-24 👏
