Sarah Michelle Gellar is turning in her badge: Paramount+ has canceled Wolf Pack after one season, TVLine has learned.
Last summer’s dual Hollywood strikes were the final nail in Wolf Pack‘s coffin. According to sources, a potential second season would not have been ready for nearly two years after the conclusion of Season 1.
Based on Edo van Belkom’s 2004 novel, Wolf Pack followed the aftermath of a California wildfire responsible for awakening a dangerous predator. That beast was eventually revealed to be the long-lost brother of the very twins he’d been targeting all season, with their mother also turning out to be someone other than whom she appeared.
The show starred Armani Jackson as Everett Lang, Bella Shepard as Blake Navarro, Chloe Rose Robertson as Luna Briggs, Tyler Lawrence Gray as Harlan Briggs, Rodrigo Santoro as Garrett Briggs and Gellar as Kristin Ramsey.
Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis served as Wolf Pack‘s showrunner, executive-producing alongside Gellar, Joseph P. Genier, Karen Gorodetzky, Christian Taylor, Mike Elliott, Jason Ensler and Sean Crouch.
Although Wolf Pack was not a spinoff of Teen Wolf, several cast members from the MTV series made appearances in new roles, including Gideon Emery (formerly Deucalion) as Malcom and Rio Mangini (formerly Alex) as Austin.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!
The show really found itself during the second half of the season. I was looking forward to a potential second season.
No
aw man this is a huge bummer!
Another terrible decision. This was a fun show.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I really liked s1 and the different takes on a wolf pack – so different from Teen Wolf, more mature and “real” almost. Darn. We can’t have anything nice…
.
Bet this is tied to the talk that Paramount+ is going to be sold…
Shows need to start assuming they get one season and stop with the cliffhangers.
It wasn’t great – I really only stuck it out for SMG.
The overzealous airbrushing of all the female characters was very offputting – of course, only the powers of the women make their skin perfect, not the guys. Weird, distracting choice.
Completely bizarre take given the multiple shirtless scenes per episode of the entire male cast lol
You are equating two different things. The men’s faces weren’t completely airbrushed in every frame and I don’t remember their torsos looking similarly altered/fake when they were on display.
Gellar was wasted in this so Im glad she’s free to do something better. None of teens could act at all, the effects were poor and the storyline was super predictable. Good riddance I say, but sorry for those who enjoyed.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
The show premiered nearly a year ago. Obviously, it was canceled; I dont know why P+ took so long to announce it. I wouldn’t be surprised if they rescind their renewal for School Spirits. Seems like they’re only interested in westerns.
They renewed the show last month and reversed the renewal a couple days ago. They were preparing to film.
It wasn’t renewed, they left it in a limbo for a year.
Read every other article on this. They were getting ready to start season two production in February. Episodes written and contracts in the works with the cast.
SMG and Davis were on a trip together in preparation for filming to start.
You’re incorrect.
Actually, if you do a Google search, there was never a confirmation of a renewal. Even TVLine had something when someone asked in December, and they hadn’t heard anything.
I’m sorry, you’re incorrect.
I am paranoid now about School Spirits. Studios are giving me a complex of not wanting to like shows cause that will somehow cause the universe to un-renew or tax right-off it. Enough with the falling out and get the content going. This was a huge step in the wrong direction
i expect this. after a year of no talk about it from the company.
yeah second half of season was when it was getting good.
…Meanwhile Kelsey is sitting around waiting for his call…
I hate it for the fans, but I couldn’t get past the first episode. I just didn’t enjoy it at all and I love supernatural series.
I thought it was one of the top 10 most streamed shows across all streaming platforms last winter?
It was a significant ratings hit but they don’t know how to make profits off of hits anymore.
Or you don’t know what your talking about, and it takes more than ratings in the moment for a streaming TV show to succeed.
Sarah Michelle Geller was the only decent cast member
It’s frustrating when they wait so long to cancel a show. It shows how little they care about people getting invested into a new show.
I get cancelling a show when there isn’t an audience, but why string us along for months, just to cancel it?
I guess it’s best not to start a new show until there are a few seasons to watch.
It’s hard to fault anyone for having that mindset, because why become invested in something only for it to quickly be cancelled? At the same time, that mindset is also what can lead to the demise of many shows, because if people hold off on watching, not enough people are watching from the start in order to give shows the potential for longevity. Sadly it’s a no win situation. Of course other factors also come into play with cancellations.
The streamers are carefully training people not to watch their shows.
Maybe streaming series should have planned obsolescence? Plot out a show to end at, say, 40-60 episodes maximum, with capped budgets-including salaries regardless of the series popularity or unpopularity.
Time to get Sarah Michelle on a good show.
Poor Sarah none of her shows last more than a season now a days
She’s television poison. She’s had one hit and a string of bombs. She has no range and always plays that same brittle character. Time to give someone else a turn.
Time for her to end her career because you don’t like her personally? That doesn’t seem right or very nice.
I am incredibly disappointed by this-I just discovered this on demand and was really getting into it. I hope it surfaces somewhere else or that there’s a campaign to bring it back or something….
I loved Wolf Pack. I’m bummed there won’t be a second season.
Starting to really hate streaming services. They all cancel good shows. But they all have no problem renewing crap. Same thing all the time with horrible excuses. Maybe it’s time to just cancel them all
I like the show and I’m disappointed it won’t return. Unfortunately I broke my own rule of not watching shows that I’m interested in until it’s been decided if there will be a second season or not. Now, we’re…I am left disappointed that the show ended in a cliff-hanger. 😡😡🤬🤬🤬
WTF!! Come on now.. give these better shows a chance to go on. This was one of the better shows that the family actually watches together.
Well I for one am disappointed. Show was fun and had potential. Getting sick one season and out shows!!
It took way too much time to find its path and rythme for a platform show but it really became a fun and really enjoyable guilty pleasure after episode 4 ! It should have got at least one special to have a proper ending. I’m surprised to say this but i will the show.
