TBS is done working miracles.
The cable network has officially cancelled Miracle Workers — its last remaining live-action comedy — after four seasons, TVLine has learned exclusively.
The cancellation comes roughly three months after the Season 4 finale, which aired Aug. 28.
After its debut season cast Steve Buscemi as God and Daniel Radcliffe as a low-level angel, subsequent seasons of the comedic anthology covered the Dark Ages (Season 2) and the Oregon Trail (Season 3).
The fourth and final season, dubbed End Times, cast Buscemi, Radcliffe, Geraldine Viswanathan, Karan Soni and Jon Bass as all-new characters “in a dystopian future full of radioactive mutants, killer robots and a tyrannical homeowner’s association with outrageous annual fees,” per the official description.
Rounding out the ensemble were guest stars Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Garcelle Beauvais (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Kyle Mooney and Ego Nwodim (Saturday Night Live), Lolly Adefope (Shrill), Paul F. Tompkins (HouseBroken) and singer Lisa Loeb.
Following Miracle Workers‘ cancellation, American Dad — currently in Season 18 and previously renewed for a 19th cycle — stands as TBS’ last scripted original.
I enjoyed this anthology, so I’m sorry to see it canceled. I loved seeing the actors inhabit new roles each season. Special shout-out to John Bass for being so gung-ho with EVERYTHING they threw at him – including dog collars and harnesses this latest round!
.
I’m still waiting for s4 to show up on Max – kind of feeling now like it never will due to the cancellation. We’ll need a miracle …
No it will still end up there since it is a Warner brothers/discovery show but I think there is a set time that it is on tbs’s website or another Warner brothers/discovery site
Daniel Radcliffe called End Times the final season ages ago in an interview, so this is not news.
I thought we knew this a long time ago?
Sad to hear it’s officially canceled. Really enjoyed this show.
I feel bad season 4 still hasn’t had a chance to be seen by those of us living in the 21st century. Still, 4 years is a good run and they made some very good television along the way.
Even though we already knew it was cancelled, the actual final cancellation announcement by TBS is a bummer. This was a silly & fun show, always new and never predictable, pure entertainment. But scripted shows aren’t “in” now-just freakin’ reality shows. Sigh. I’ll miss Miracle Workers.
I enjoyed it but it was pretty much the same show every season so I’m ok with it being over. Steve Buscemi was great.
Season 4 was such a letdown compared to the first three that I was hoping they’d get a reprieve to right the ship, but I guess not. Oh, well, thanks for the laughs!
A great cast even though some seasons were weaker than others it was truly a unique show that I’ll miss
Enjoyed the cast, the silliness, the comedy. Really sorry it’s over.
Season one was really great.
Season two was a sh1tshoveler.
Season three was quite ok.
Season four was mostly entertaining.
They never got back to the greatness of season one, so maybe it is for the best.
Not surprising but still sooo disappointing. I’ll miss new adventures with this merry band of rascals. Not every season was great, but still always had its charms. Guess we’ll always have rewatches on max
Well that stinks! Miracle Workers was a fantastic show! All of the players doing different characters each season was pure comedy gold! Bad call TBS.
Stupid move. The language was a bit much, but the show made you laugh, and that’s just what the public needs these days. I ‘m very disappointed!
