Fox is done paying for Honey’s group therapy sessions, cancelling adult animated comedy Housebroken after two seasons.
Season 2, which wound down last summer, averaged 460,000 total viewers and a 0.1 demo rating (with Live+7 playback).
Housebroken featured the voices of Lisa Kudrow, Will Forte, Clea DuVall, Nat Faxon, Sharon Horgan, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson and Jason Mantzoukas, and followed a group of neighborhood animals as they worked through their issues — inside and outside their therapy group.
Among scripted series returning to Fox for the 2024-25 broadcast season are 9-1-1: Lone Star (Season 5), Accused (Season 2), Animal Control (Season 3), Bob’s Burgers (Season 15), Family Guy (Season 23), Grimsburg (Season 2), Krapopolis (already renewed for Seasons 2 and 3) and The Simpsons (Season 36).
Still on the bubble at Fox are fellow animated series The Great North (which is still awaiting official word on Season 5), and live-action series Alert: Missing Persons Unit and The Cleaning Lady (which would be entering Seasons 3 and 4, respectively).
TVLine’s Renewal Scorecard has been updated to reflect Housebroken‘s demise. Were you among its loyal viewers?
Ouch! I really liked Housebroken. 😟
Stupid move cancelling housebroken
Having one of those TV seasons where it feels like all the TV execs are personally trying to get me to stop watching TV by canceling all the things I watch. I hope The Great North gets renewed at least.
They messed up by putting it Midseason when it was doing well sandwiched with its sister show Bob’s Burgers. If it gets renewed I’d prefer it back with Bob, and Homer!
I could’ve sworn I heard they were working on a third season and it’d show up this summer. Animation takes a while. Is it still floating around out there?
I love The Great North but I despise the addition of Jane Lynch’s character on the show. I love her in other stuff but her character is just annoying. I wouldn’t be sad if the series had to go if they don’t kill her character off
I also like GN. I’m not crazy about the Jane Lynch addition either. I like her character well enough but I worry that her extra cost will hurt the show.
.
It just seems like the characters are spinning a little.
Not surprised. The first season was good, but after it went on hiatus at the beginning of Season 2 the writing felt all over the place and desperate
