ABC Sets Fall Premiere Dates for Grey’s, Abbott, DWTS, 9-1-1 and More
ABC on Wednesday became the third broadcast network (after NBC and The CW) to lock down premiere dates for the Fall TV season.
The new season gets underway on Tuesday, Sept. 17 with a fresh installment of Dancing With the Stars (also streaming on Disney+) leading into the series premiere of High Potential, which stars It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Kaitlin Olson as an unassuming genius who helps the police crack tough cases.
ABC’s other scripted debut — Doctor Odyssey, starring Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson and executive-produced by Ryan Murphy — premieres Thursday, Sept. 26, nestled between new seasons of 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy. Also making its debut that month: The Golden Bachelorette, with leading lady Joan Vassos.
Then in October, the Emmy-winning comedy Abbott Elementary returns for another school year, and Shark Tank kicks off a new season of cutting deals.

How is Celebrity Wheel of Fortune held for midseason if it premieres in October?
On some weeks during the fall (but not every week), ABC will have a Monday Night Football game, either an ESPN simulcast or a secondary game. Presumably the game shows will air during the open weeks, and then weekly after football season.

It aired on the Fall season in 2022 and 2023, but previously used to air in the summer.
They have decided old people dating might have higher ratings. Look, this is winter tv, maybe. It was an interesting one off, that had a dude with a lot of garbage. Come back tv with known veterans is easy summer ratings. What are they doing?

So ABC has one sit-com and 4 dramas. That is only 4.5 hours of scripted TV a week. It looks like the writers wrote themselves out of jobs with their strike. Also, there are lots of holes in this schedule. Do they not yet know what they are going to show?
So, ABC continues to leave “Holey Moley” in limbo for the last 2+ years? They should just rip off that band-aid and officially kill it. It would be easier for us fans.
They should have done the same with Wipeout before waiting seven years until that abysmal TBS version aired.
Also Abbot is premiering late in the Fall season. Does ABC not care about their most successful sitcom on TV right now?
Oh please. October 9 is not late. November or December is late. Just be a bit more patient.

I bought my own place and I didn’t even get cable or subscribe to any kind of tv because I want to pirate every tv shows I want to watch. However, I don’t think there is a single thing worth pirating this year. NBC and now ABC have absolutely nothing interesting and I don’t see CBS having anything good either. This year, it’s all trash.
I miss an old-school premiere week. The hoopla, promotional campaigns, and rollout seems even more special compared to today’s meh presentations.
Outside of football and Abbott Elementary, I guess my viewership will be held for midseason, as well.
From the looks of this schedule, we won’t be watching ABC until the second half of the season when The Rookie and Will Trent come back. Why put those shows off for so long? OH, we do watch Abbott, so there is 30 minutes. Very disappointed that Station 19 is not coming back.
I hate Abbott Elementary time slot, would make so much more sense to have it open the night and just have Golden Bachelorette begin at 8:30/7:30
