It’s the question on every 9-1-1 fan’s mind: Is the ABC drama really killing off Bobby Nash in tonight’s Season 7 finale (8/7c)?
They have every right to worry, given that last week’s episode ended with Peter Krause‘s character collapsing from cardiac arrest, mere moments after rescuing Athena from their burning home. But while viewers lose sleep wondering whether Bobby’s latest brush with death will also be his last, Krause is staying positive, reminding TVLine that there’s an upside to Bobby landing in a coma: “There’s no pressure to remember my lines.”
He’s kidding (we think), but the fight that lies ahead for Bobby is no laughing matter, and it’s giving Krause an excuse to reflect on how important his character has become to the show’s fans over the past seven seasons.
“Bobby’s been a very fascinating character for me to play,” Krause says. “When I first met with Ryan Murphy and he pitched [Bobby’s story] to me, I thought, ‘That’s a lot of people to die in a fire.’ But I love that 9-1-1 is a vehicle for storytelling about resilience, and in Bobby’s case, redemption. I’ve really enjoyed playing him. There are some harder days in terms of the emotional work, but we’re pushing what you can do on network television.”
From the flashback to Bobby’s traumatic childhood, to his wild west-esque adventure with Amir at the border, to the coma that could very well take his life, Krause acknowledges that it’s been a “much heavier emotional journey at the end for Bobby than [he] expected at the beginning of the season.”
(Here’s hoping Bobby still has many more emotional journeys to come.)
9-1-1 Nation, how are we feeling as we head into Thursday’s finale? Are you worried that we could be losing Bobby for good? Drop a comment with your thoughts ahead of the season’s closing hour.
I was confused by the last episode. I felt the fire wasn’t real, but instead a dream.
I wish the last few episodes were a dream
Love Bobby don’t kill him off he makes people take a good look at firemen and the fantastic work they do the show would really suffer if you take Bobby away
Please keep Bobby. My sister and I both like watching 911. Can hardly wait for it to start again.
“I’ve really enjoyed playing him” don’t scare me. Why de past tense? Whyyyyyy? We need Bobby. His exit would be devastating.
I noticed that too!
He said, ‘I’ve really enjoyed..’ Means ‘I HAVE really..’, not ‘I’d really…’ meaning ‘I HAD really…’ Big difference between the two conjunctions.
Not sure this grammatical logic works in this context – as the subject is about his enjoyment. Nobody would say “I had really enjoyed playing him” as that would imply he no longer enjoyed playing him. “I’ve” would work in both instances – I have enjoyed (and will continue to) or I have enjoyed (and will no longer). Don’t think we can glean anything from the grammar here.
The show needs Bobby and Athenia! People need hope, support and love. This couple is the epitome of how to do love in tough times and support in the good, bad and hard times.
Folks, this isn’t up to the producers. It is up to the actor. Like Mark Harmon, he can play this role as long as he wants. But the show is in major syndication now. He’s basically made around 20-50 million playing this role, by the time all the revenue from his time on the show is totaled (with residuals making up a big portion of that, and that being money he hasn’t received yet). This is a physically demanding role, time consuming as well. If he decides to take his fortune and go home, I understand.
.
This feels like a negotiation tactic by both parties. He’s in limbo, so he can’t demand as much money lest they kill off his character. But he can threaten to walk away, which MIGHT hurt the show.
Don’t kill Bobby off!!! We love him for the show and for Athena. When you start moving shows to different networks, changing days and times and killing off main characters…it makes me wonder about the fate of the series.
If he leaves I’m leaving
Please do t kill Bobby he is 911 but who set his house on firer
Retribution from the cartel…
I don’t want Bobby’s role gone. I would like to see both Bobby and Amir really forgive each other. Amir to find out that Bobby lost his whole family in that fire.
I think Amir set the fire.
Revenge for what Bobby has now & how Amir lost everything he had.
No reason why Bobby has to die. .could become a fire investigator solving them inatead of fighting them. Fans will be devastated if he dies.
Nah, Chicago Fire tried that with Severide and it was totally blah. Would rather see Bobby and Athena retire and start new careers together as private detectives.
When you kill off the stars people.live your ratings go Down because ppl.will.stop.watching
. Bobby means so much to the show as does Athena do t kill them ofd
Don’t take Bobby. He is the key to this show. However you can take out Buck being bisexual
I wish we could take bigots out of the fanbase!
You can turn off the show you know. There are other shows to watch if Buck being bisexual upsets you so much.
Suck it up, cupcake — we’re here, we’re across the alphabet spectrum and no trash dumpster named Joan is going to stop us.
Please Please don’t take Bobby away from us. He is much needed cast member who brings substance to the show.
Yeah. I’m getting Nate Fisher flashbacks.
I think the fire is a flashback gone wrong. I do hope that’s the case. I’d also love to see Bobby and Amir work on a large project together.
Bobby is one of the best characters, don’t let him die
Make certain that Bobby awakens from his coma with a more peaceful soul
If they kill him off i will be done..i love all the characters but bobby and athena make the show
They better not kill him off because as well as myself there will be a lot of disappointed fans of the show!!
The show would not be the same without Bobby. I love the way that he has become the “Papa Bear” in the series. He and Athena holds the show together.
Bobby is a very big part of the show ,if he dies and all they have is same sex everything, I’ll be done watching
One couple on the show and you’re complaining about “same sex everything.” Must be nice to be that entitled.
If you have issues with LGBTQ+ characters why would be watching this show to begin with?
Mandy, you do realize this show was created by a gay man (Ryan Murphy)?
Mandy has one brain cell and it’s working on keeping her breathing.
I HAVE BEEN WORRIED ABOUT BOBBY DYING ALL WEEK NOW, THEY CANT KILL HIM OFF 🙏🥲 I don’t think I could watch it anymore if they do.
I am binge watching 911 from season 1.
I think I’m up to season 3 or 4. Have enjoyed this show immensely. Will be watching end of Season 7 tonight. ❤️
Please don’t let Bobby die.
Bobby and Athena are my favorites too!
I enjoy Bobby’s feeling of responsibility to the crew. I like how all the characters interact so well. Bobby is my favorite character but Athena is my favorite “bad ass” character. They fit well together. I hope Bobby decides to rescind his resignation and stay.
I HOPE BOBBY DOESN’T DIE. I’LL BE REALLY SAD IF THAT HAPPENS CUZ I LOVE HIS CHACATER N THE REST OF THEM
As we get closer to this evening’s show I’m starting to stress. I hope Bobby lives! I already lost Peter as Nate on Six Feet Under. Please let him survive!
Please please don’t get of Bobby he is the glue that keeps everyone together
We love him and the rest of the cast one of my favorite shows
Don’t kill Bobby!! There is to much crap in real life. I don’t need any in my tv shows.
Yes I’m worried I don’t want us to lose Bobby. Peter is a great actor. Let’s get Bobby better and move forward.
