Techshare India 2016: TOWARDS DIGITAL INCLUSION

The fifth edition of Techshare India - 2 day accessibility & assistive technology conference and exhibition, held on 3^rd and 4^th March 2016, at the India Habitat Center, New Delhi was a major success. Techshare India 2016 – an initiative of BarrierBreak was organized in partnership with National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) and Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB),UK.

The event was inaugurated by Shilpi Kapoor, BarrierBreak, CEO, Javed Abidi, NCPEDP, Honorary Director, David Dikter, Assistive Technology Industry Association, CEO and Som Mittal, Nasscom, Former President which was then followed by a panel discussion on Towards Digital Inclusion of People with Disabilities.

Highlights

800 delegates on Day 1 and 600 delegates on Day 2 from government, non – profit organizations, education institutes and corporate

Launch of NewzHook app and website: the first ever news portal for persons with disability

Exhibition showcasing ‘Model Inclusive Bank’ and ‘Model Resource Center’

Over 2000 visitors on Day 1 and over 1500 visitors on Day 2 including disabled, caretakers, elderly etc.
