Today Square Enix is hosting the first day of the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Tokyo, and the initial keynote presentation started strong with a new trailer.
Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida walked on stage to present a new trailer for the expansion, which also revealed the second new job on top of Viper, which was announced at the Fan Festival in London.
The new job is Pictomancer, a magical ranged DPS that utilizes the power of paint, and below you can enjoy some art.
Interestingly, the trailer also includes the first look at a female hrothgar in the form of a relevant NPC. Female Hrothgars will finally become playable as a new race and gender combination with the expansion.
Lastly, we learn that the release date for Dawntrail won't be announced today.
While a tentative release date has been set internally, Square Enix wants to be absolutely sure of the specific timing before making the announcement.
That being said, Yoshida-san confirmed that it is going to be in the summer of 2024 as announced before.
You can watch the new trailer below in English. If you're among those who enjoy voice acting in Japanese, you can find the dedicated trailer on the official YouTube channel.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PS5, PS4, PC, and Mac, with a new Xbox Series X|S port that will finally launch at some point this spring with an open beta starting in February.
