Indie survival sim Abiotic Factor has hit a major sales milestone within its first week or so on sale, developer Deep Field Games and publisher Playstack have announced.
In a post on the game's official Steam page, Deep Field says Abiotic Factor has hit 250,000 sales within its first "eight days" on release, although the developer's math is a little skewed, it seems.
The post is dated today, May 13th, but Abiotic Factor launched on May 2nd, which is a difference of eleven days, not eight. One wonders if this news was originally supposed to be released this past Friday, which would make the numbers check out.
Either way, those are some pretty impressive numbers for a new Early Access game on the block. While they might pale in comparison to the sales and player numbers achieved by certain other survival games, Abiotic Factor still has plenty of time to catch up.
Deep Field and Playstack say they're excited to share their plans for Abiotic Factor for the rest of the year with players, and indeed, there's a pretty packed roadmap for the game, including updates like a sandbox mode, new sectors, and much more.
If things continue the way they've been going, then there will be plenty of players in the Abiotic Factor player base to share in the journey with Deep Field and Playstack.
If you haven't checked out Abiotic Factor yet, it's a co-op survival game that feels a bit like a cross between System Shock 2, Half-Life, and Stationeers.
You (and, optionally, your friends as well) play as a scientist attempting to escape a facility that's full of terrifying extraterrestrial dangers, and you must avoid them while crafting a wide range of items and resources with components you scavenge from the facility.
