Remedy's Doing Just Fine

Plus, here's when we can expect more Call of Duty news.

Remedy’s still doing pretty well, you know. Its first quarter revenue is up 56.2% year over year, showcasing huge growth over time. Alan Wake 2 was likely a very expensive game for Remedy to develop, ship, and market. At the same time, it’s really cemented their place in the AAA space as the “what if Twin Peaks were a video game” developer.

The company’s also full steam ahead on their other projects, including a sequel to the critically acclaimed Control, the Max Payne remakes, a multiplayer Control spin-off, and whatever Codename Kestrel is.

You might have already seen this headline around the internet this week, since we published it back on Monday, but I wanted to highlight it here again with some more context.

Some have used this story as ammunition in their crusade against the Epic Game Store or simply as a means to dunk on Alan Wake or Remedy in general. And to be clear, Alan Wake 2 is still Remedy’s fastest-selling title at 1.3 million units sold to date. It’s doing just fine. Demand is higher than ever for Sam Lake’s wacky ride. Just let people enjoy it.
